Custom Airships?

Well I have been watching Last Exile and I can't help but think about FFXIV having customizable personal Airships.

Airships have different models, each with their own stats. Each model has different parts such as engines, propulsion, ect and all change the appearance of the ship as well as the performance. All Airships run off of Ceruleum, which becomes a new commodity.

Parts can be crafted and or bought.

Every Saturday a tournament for airship racing will run all day. Winners go into a monthly "Grand Race" with all kinds of rewards and whatnot.

Racing will not be dependant on lag and rail-style movement. I'm looking at you chocobo racing.

just to let you know you can give us this trophy now!!! we have the millenium falcon XD

on a side note painting and airship glamor would be kool .... but the one thing i have been waiting for, for almost 2 years now is the chocobo carraige we were told would be coming as a multi player mount for friends to ride together on while levelign etc.... you see a few of them in storyline as it progresses so you know the one i am talking about!!! its also in the game beginner cutscene entering grindania as your home state!!

No content is long lasting unless it offers sufficient rewards. Chocobo Racing is great content in and of itself, but the only rewards exclusive to it are a handful of titles and a vanity helmet.

I think Chocobo Racing died off because it was just around not fun, the lane system + lag made it painful to play. I went in expecting something like Mario Kart (but a little worse of course) but got whatever it is we have now. =/

I disagree. If they make it fun then it will be just fine. Crafting is damn there useless but it's fun, which is why it's lasted this long. They just need to make the experience enjoyable and deep.
