Yes, someone having a different way of thinking to your own must be a really difficult thing to imagine.No. So much to do so little time!
In about 14 month of me playing the game each day for 5h on weekdays and 10+ on weekends I had never been able to even remotely catch up to the current patch. How people can complain that there is nothing to do here is completely beyond me!
I know I am, for the most part my days have just been log in to do a daily for ESOs, MAYBE leveling dungeon with one of my DPS classes that are not leveled, ask if any FC members need help (usually a no) and log off to play with my PC-Android app or Metal Gear 5. Just overall I feel like I've done all I want and I do not have the tolerance to run and learn an extreme raid for hours and hours on end just to clear it. I tried with the first Coil, spent almost 5 hours the first day and just thinking this is how its going to be for days with little improvement or progress? No thanks.
I am pretty burnt out this patch too. For me, what did it was Alexander normal. I play MMOs to raid, and that is what provides me motivation to gear up and run roulettes. However, since having to farm Alex Normal for gear to be able to do Alex Savage, Savage felt like it lost out on an important aspect of its appeal.
Also the fact that if you try to use just gear from Savage you end up horrendously below the accuracy cap is just plain frustrating. I have some pieces from Savage that I can't use unless I downgrade other pieces with ESO gear to keep my accuracy up. I mean really, it would be nice if I could use my savage gear in savage.
Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.
I do feel burnt out though I still log in and chat with people but there are days where that is all I'll be really doing. Maybe run something with friends but yeah can just sit in my spot and watch the world go by and relax while watching something else on the second screen.
On the average day I just log in to do Trial and EX roulettes, get and clear a map, send out a venture, and check the stuff I am selling.
Till 2 days ago I was also leveling DRG, but I hit 60, and don't feel like picking up any other job, or finishing WHM and AST to 60.
Some days I also jump on my BTN and do some leveling, but I really have to feel like doing it, which I often don't.
But hey, I've never been a person who would play just ONE GAME ALL THE TIME. I need variety. So I don't mind that I don't have to burn hours per day to keep up in XIV, and can watch anime, series, or just play other games.
Is Close nowLots of people weigh in on this subject in this 35 page thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...appeal-because...
Not really. I havn't even hit Lv60 on any class yet. /casual
They were getting too close to the truth.
Joking aside, I can't say I'm entirely burned out...but I also haven't been grinding like the game wants you to. Because I know that, if I do grind Alexander Normal, I'll eventually get tired of it and want to go into Savage. It would be the exact same pattern that I did with Coil, and it would probably end the same way. I'd get burned out. So I'm just taking time leveling an alt and fishing.
Even with that, I'm playing other games on the side. Think I'm going to hunker down with a survival horror title for a few weeks, honestly.
As an aside, that thread probably got closed because, from a mod's eyes, it descended into nothing but a complaint thread without much constructive feedback going on. Those same criticisms are being shared in multiple other threads, anyway.
WinterMaintenance is coming
I'm not, I don't only play to cap anything. I keep everything balanced.
Heavesnward burnt me out before I even started working on tomes. Gathering and Crafting are ridiculous now.
