Last night, I was with my friends and we regularly watch pay-per-view wrestling every month. Following a tag team match, the manager of the winning team who actually had a trombone with him, celebrated the win by playing a riff of the Final Fantasy victory fanfare.

I don't know if this was intentional, if he knew what he was playing, or if was strictly coincidental but to hear him play the victory fanfare was hilarious. We couldn't stop laughing!

Does anyone else have a story where an element of Final Fantasy had an unexpected crossover?

Intentional. He's been doing it for weeks. He plays FF14 and is a big gamer. He has a youtube channel. He also has made a lot of mortal kombat and streetfighter references lately.

Actually, that's kind of a reference in a reference. The supervising director/storyboarder for that show, Ian Jones-Quartey, made a webcomic a long time ago called RPG World, whose main character Hero looks almost exactly like that, and Hero's design is obviously a parody of Cloud.
