Since Diurnal Sect adds a regen effect to Aspected spells...

...then why does it increase Attack Speed by 5%, instead of increasing Spell Speed by 5%?

I thought that Spell Speed affected Damage/Healing over Time and all...unless Attack Speed worked the same way.

But if not, then it seems like a weird choice for a stat to be improved upon, unlike Nocturnal Sect's increase in Healing Magic Potency by 5% (which directly affects shielding strength).

    Thoughts?

Didn't people do math and figure out that the difference spell speed makes on Dots and HOTs is pretty small?

Either way, you still cast stuff faster, so i don't think it'd change much

5% increase in the Spell Speed stat is even worse. Waaaaay worse.

Not that 5% Attack Speed does anything wonderful for healers, but the effect is far more noticeable this way. As far as any benefit to HoT/DoT from 5% bonus Spell Speed, it would be so negligible as not to matter at all.

5% spell speed would increase your spell speed stat by 5% which would increase your HoT potency a little and make your spell speed on the stat sheet a little better looking
but 5% attack speed reduces all your cast times/gcd by 5% which is simply a far stronger effect

using the new 3% attack speed fey wind is a little stronger than the old 30% versions as a reference
should mean 5% attack speed is 10+ times better than 5% spell speed would be

Problem is it takes hundreds of points in SkS/SpS for it to make a difference. 5% of your SpS at like 600 SpS would only be 30 SpS, that's literally nothing and would make a huge change of nothing to your HoTs

not sure how that's different to what i wrote to begin with.
I originally wrote it as "5% attack speed is 1000% better than 5% spell speed" but figured it would just be taken as hyperbole instead of literally

It wouldn't be literally nothing either. When Hots are ticking over 1000 a 5% spell speed buff would probably result in a boost around 5-20 per tick which while basically is nothing it does exist and maybe see 1 or 2 hundredths of a second faster cast on the spreadsheet which would technically look better but carry no actual meaning
