Since getting the Figerprints of the Gods ability I have had trouble with my gathering abilities firing and have not got Fingerprints of the Gods to go off only once and that was when I accepted the quest. I have gathered for hours at a time and still it does not fire off. I am not sure if this is how it was planned or if it is a bug.

So far, from my experience, it's limited to certain areas. Abilities also proc a lot less since they got rid of gathering fatigue.

The area with the highest proc rate for me is Humblehearth.

Make sure your in the right area (Humblehearth, Iron Lake, Halatali, Tranquil Paths).

Equip Fingerprint of the Gods as your only ability (helps it proc more frequently).

Gather away.

Had it proc twice on a single tree several times last night, so it's definitely working.
