What was the first thing you did in-game?

I started playing during the 1.0 beta that you could get into by preordering the game.

The first thing I did was buy a new video card.

I don't remember exactly the first thing I did ... but I do recall simply not realizing that the initial area you're in after getting off the wagon is an instanced version of the zone you're in. I remember thinking how quiet the area was, and whether I should be annoyed that the game is underpopulated or thankful that I wouldn't be disturbed by random people running in killing everything they see lol

One of the first pointed 'gunning for it' things I did, though, was complete the FATE's and other summer event stuff so I could complete the whole Cascadier thing going on at the time and have the bikini and all ... because my character is smexy and I know it

Still have that set from 2013! Even though it's offered every year, and now it's on the Mogstation... lol

Rolled arcanist. Got placed in Limsa. Looked around it for a bit. Went to arcanist guild. Asked 'is this where i learn to heal'. Someone said no, you need conjurer.

Deleted character.

Re-rolled Conjurer. Ended up in a completely different city and intro.

Was very confused.

I started with the 1.0 launch back in 2010.
So the first thing I did was get my butt handed to me by a level 2 Tiny Rat.

Edit: I guess technically the first thing I did was the boat area tutorial thing.
But I assume we look past those mandatory things.

First thing I did? I guess I loaded up the game and watched the first cutscene.....

Other than that, I suppose I just went straight into the quests. I joined the server I'm on because the server I wanted to join that had a couple of friends on it was full, so I went with a recommendation from a random person I met at the store on the same day I bought the game. Which meant that until that person got on a few hours later, I was completely solo in going at the game. I like having a sense of direction when I'm first starting a game, so I hit the quests......

Before that, I DID take part back in the PS3 beta back when it first came out, but as that was quite some time before I started playing the actual game, I only have vague memories of it beyond being excited that the full game would have the Arcanist class.....

I started playing in Beta Phase III for 2.0. After being so crushed when I heard the game was scrapped (1.0) that when I heard they were "re-making" it I was so excited.
1. First thing I did was gather all the quests in Gridania and explored the city. I then decided on Bard and went to the Archer's guild to get started...man those were the days of having crappy armor and being so happy to level off level 1 mobs...LOL.

Then I think I fought some weird thingy with Thancred. And then I got lost in Ul'dah. My memory is a bit fuzzy.

I started late in 1.0 (1.15ish i think?), but my laptop could not handle the game at lowest settings, lowest resolution, etc. Was on Wutai, then when they changed server names or whatever i went to balmung. I played til like level 6 and quit, waited for 2.0. Didnt get legacy status.

Played in the 2.0 closed beta phases (i forget if there was an alpha test, i was in all of them i think). When 2.0 launched i didnt continue my guy on balmung because my brother and friends could not play on the server. So i made my new guy with the same name on coeurl, the only open server at the time lol, and yeah. First thing i did was main story lol
