What was the first thing you did in-game?

*or one of the first things, if you can't remember..hahaaaa

Also, when did you start playing?

I started right at the end of 2.3...I was right there signing up for rogue when it came out, though.

And I unfortunately remember the very first thing I did...take a screenshot. Classy, I know.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

I started playing in closed beta for 2.0. I'd been looking forward to the relaunch greatly, as I'd been an FFXI player, and was eager to get back to a Final Fantasy setting.

The first thing I did was run through the intro quests, and then head out the gates to explore as much of Eorzea as I could reach on foot.

I can't even remember the last thing I did, and I was on this morning. All I know I started playing April or March 2014.

Assuming we're not counting 1.x, during one of the final beta phases. I got past the initial "go to the inn" instance and then spent about 10 minutes using my new-found jumping powers to hop endlessly all around New Gridania(you couldn't jump in 1.x and had to walk around even trivial objects/differences in terrain).

Oh oh - let's see I started playing Alpha of 1.0.

After I got my character done and logged into Limsa (because that was the only city you could play in during Alpha) I went outside to start killing - haha back then they had some thing that were funny/bugs that needed fixing: every time someone leveled the whole zone heard the little melody that plays when you level.

So think of running around, low level and killing things, while every other second that song is going off because someone in the zone leveled up. While some were shouting their annoyance, most just laughed and there was a continuing shout of CONGRATS! constantly being shout. It was really great fun~!

Oh and Sheep heaven! There was a whole area full of sheep people would go too - poor things and their pathetic little "Meeeeeh" as they died, but was one of the best places to level. XD

I also remember there being a tunnel you had to run though to get to one of the teleports in the Limsa area hahaha - like a level 20-something area but the mobs in the tunnel were like 50-60. So we would have people who already had the teleport run in and basically death pull all these mobs and die, so the people who still needed the teleport could run though and get to it. LOL

Man, I know 1.0 wasn't perfect and it had it's flaws but it was just so crazy that it was so much fun to try and get something. Really had to work together to help out everyone - I miss that feeling of working together like back then.

Played the game in the beta until level 20, I rolled at CNJ "first" and really enjoyed it, preordered the game and everything but when it came out I completely lost interest. A bit later I saw it on Steam, thought "Why not?" and picked it up again and have been hooked so to speak since then with 2 or so breaks.

    But if you're asking for the very thing I did, run around like an idiot during the beta clueless about everything. I thought GLD was a DPS class at first and ended up rerolling when I was level 17ish ;-;

I started playing right after 2.0 ARR launch. 1st thing was to create a character obviously. Then figuring out how it works and scratching my head why I was watching a cutscene without voices.

If memory serves, I joined this game in February of 2014, starting this game on the PS3. (I have since upgraded to a PS4 though) I forget what patch number it was, but it was when Myth tomes were the "in thing" at the time. (Though I didn't get that far until Soldiery tomes were the "in thing") And the sole biggest reason why I even joined despite not being big on MMO games was because a friend of mine urged me to join this game because he's a huge multiplayer fanatic looking for any way to game together.

Who also happens to be a obsessive collector/buyer of everything and will buy a videogame (and lately amiibos) on a whim if it so much as even remotely interests him. He even admits it.

The first thing I did was go where he went (Ul'dah) by picking a job that started in that zone. (Gladiator) And while I was going to explore the entire city at first for quests to get in precious EXP, said friend wasted no time in stepping outside the gates at some point and started picking fights instantly with any monster he saw. I remember my very first day on this game quite well in this regard, as I already had to save his rear from biting off more than he can chew. And I was only starting the game myself! This marked the first of MANY times I'd save him throughout the whole game.

To this day, that hasn't changed. Take my eyes off him for more than a few seconds against monsters in the open world that are merely at this level, and he'll die. Against overworld monsters. Repeatedly. (lol) The fact that this happens to him a lot is part of the reason why I remain subbed to this game regardless of it's ups and downs. (Well that, and it's fun to play the game with good friends) Well... and also the fact that I'm the main leader of my own FC, so I gotta log in every now and then just to keep that position.
