    Personal alerts

The sounds used to alert other players during party events are really useful. As a healer I find that warriors who use it to request Esuna just as the debuff hits (I can't remember what exactly it is but I'm sure you warriors out there will) allows the battle to move on much easier.

My question stands that if they are useful for alerting party member then why can't we have a set for personal use?

Example, abilities such as Asylum, Swiftcast and Assize are very useful and you would use as often as possible but other ones, such as Divine Seal, should be kept on cooldown permanently. As a way to help this stay on cooldown I feel it would be useful to have personal alerts. That way you could write them in to macros to sound (and possibly have some sort of OSM) as the ability is coming off cooldown and therefore ready for use again.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

This may or may not be super helpful, but have you tried writing a macro using /echo followed by a sound effect?

/echo only appears in your personal chat box, no one else's.

The problem here is only 1 macro can be active at once; activating another cancels the first macro. So not very good for tracking more than 1 CD.

It would take some pretty Advanced Combat Tracking to track more than 1 CD and alert you when they become available for use.

I can't remember exactly now but if you use an ability in the middle of the macro...doesn't it cancel the macro?? I will have to try this out and see again. When I am healing and play with a warrior I just make it part of my job to watch for his Beserk so that I can get his pacify off.

About those tank macros, I sort of find them annoying too. Regardless, to the matter at hand, they are just macros on their side as well and liable to the same cancellation than the offered /echo variation for personal use.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I agree op it would be very nice to have this option.

Games like wow have pulled it off easily with addons.

Im sure it can be achieved somehow in this game too, but not confident improving this would be a consideration by se. sadly.

Macros and ui could use many many improvements.

I sorta think asking all sorts of specific things just muddles things up while we all could be begging for addon interface. Many Gui related woes would be solved in a week. The main reason for this is one I heard once from a developer of another game, for the company itself to add some features they have to be pretty sure it works exactly as intended, without any unseen consequences or othe discomforts. That takes time at every part of development. Addons, even the good ones don't hold into such high standards. As it's obvious people use them on their own risk, they can have much lower bar for releasable, and unforeseen lacks can be patched later. Also those who do use them have higher tolerance to miscomfort.that way all minor fixes can be pushed out on trial and error manner, and they'll affect only those who want the said fixes.

To cap it, let's just all beg for the addon interface.

On an entirely separate note, I was wondering if it could be implemented for a player to redeem ceremony invitations to add a timer to the timers menu so that it notifies them an hour or so before a ceremony is due to start, as there's been times where I've missed them because I was gathering and didn't need to check my inventory. :s
