I know your sentiments, and I agree, criticism, no matter how you slice it, will always have a negative connotation to it (I mean, its definition is expressing disapproval of perceived faults). It's also more fractious since, as you said, everyone will have different criticisms to give, but it's the way it is. While it may be strange (and honestly, some people can be more tactful), at the end of the day we all want to see improvements in game.Sadly though, I don't think there IS any way to make criticism sound nice. And for me personally, I've always seen criticism as a very odd way of saying you like the game... especially since everyone has different things they want out of a game, which of course clashes with other fans. That's just me though.
Not everyone gives good/constructive criticism, on the same token not every one receives it well, and it can be subjective as well. It can sound rough some times it's best we say it directly as opposed to sugar coating it and losing the message. No matter what, any thing that seems confrontational, since it's also hard to convey tone and some times intent in text, will always feel awkward.![]()

I'ma go punch that.
Tank and DPS
It's true, it never comes off as positive or in a good manner...I find the only way to make it come out kindly is to not use accusing words, like "you" or "you did" etc. Hehe but I find it pretty rad how Yoshida said not only does he appreciate the constructive criticism, but that its worth way more then any praise. Gotta respect someone like that![]()
While people often tend to attack others who criticise, not knowing that in the end all they want is things to improve the game. People are stating that they're so tired of seeing "negative posts" and anything within that category with real criticism. One thing everyone should think about, is why there are so many that pop up. Especially at this time when we recently received an expansion. A lot of people tend to accept things the way they are and take these criticisms as attacks toward the devs, instead of considering that these types of discussions may pave the way to better content later. PSA: acting as a white knight on a paid developers behalf yields no special treatment whatsoever.lol
My only concern about this is that when one day we will have 4.0, people might think twice on buying the expansion on day one because they don't want to feel the same "starvation" that they feel now. And that's not a good thing at all.
I'm glad they got their vacation, nobody should work with stress over their shoulder, but they will have a lot of struggle to recoup the loss of "faith" for those who, like me in this case, are awaiting for more than simply 2 dungeons and a easy raid to pass the time. Sure, a lot of people will still buy their expansion on day one but a lot will prefer to wait the first or second patch before even jumping on it.
And who is going to lose in this battle? Only Square Enix, with a big chunk of their players preferring to wait big content patches instead of faithfull waiting with a sub.
Best of luck, because you'll need it from now on.
I have yet to touch Savage. I've been so busy with leveling up all my jobs (6 jobs so far at 60 and I just got DRK to level 59). All jobs were lvl 50 before HW but now I have to get them all to 60. There is a lot of lore and secretes within those job quests. I just don't understand why a lot of players won't take the time to enjoy them all. There are very few MMO's out there that allow you to try all the jobs especially on one character. Take the time to level them all up and enjoy the story.
JRPG's are full of lore and hidden treasures so get in there and leave no stone unturned. Get all your jobs to 60 and enjoy the mysteries and all the hidden treasures of Eorzea.

Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
The problem would be easily solved if Yoshi-P was allowed to hire more people to his team. As I've heard its a small team who make content for this game
