I find it kind of funny people running to the defense of the dev team, unless I read stuff wrong I don't think anyone was attacking the dev team personally but the company that employs them that being SE.
such as this quote below.
Psh! I'm sure we can have one thread where everyone is ni--
Oh.
Welp. My salt shaker was almost empty anyway.

Technically, they already got back and are working again. However, it's still nice to see a thread like this among all the complaint threads that always pop up over every news announcement. Could they have perhaps planned their vacation better? Maybe, but they still deserved it.
I don't get why people insist on making such a big deal about this. I've got plenty of things to still do in the game itself, and other things I can play and do during the wait for 3.1. Though I think I may have finally found the root of the problem as to why people complain so fast and so much...
And lol at all the people complaining that a company is automatically bad just because they gave their entire staff time off for a holiday and what not. Mine does that too on most holidays, giving a day or two off (unless you use your vacation hours to extend that) for holidays like Christmas and what not.
EDIT: ... and there's those damn words "White-Knight" again. I swear, I'm going to start keeping track of how many times that's used.

Straw man? I have not seen one person complain that they took a vacation.
Most I've seen is basically,
Which is justified, easily.
The problem would be easily solved if Yoshi-P was allowed to hire more people to his team. As I've heard its a small team who make content for this game

I find myself having to agree with this and liking the post. Indeed. That is why criticism exists. It's the truth that said criticism can be used to improve a product. My own personal beef with criticism stems from the fact that most who do criticize tend to do nothing to point out what they LIKED about the game... usually. Might stem from that "If it's good, why bother talking about it?" mentality some people have.As much as there is a lot of bellyaching on any game forum, the important thing to take away from complaints is that they are there for a reason. A company should keep it in mind and look at the cause for them. Another perspective to look at is the fact that the people making said complaints are criticizing a product, because they care enough to do so. Criticisms are points from where a company can look at to improve their product.
Everyone has different things to complain about and will thus weigh other concerns that one player has more or less versus another, and in the end the dev team decides what the route is, but complaints and criticism still help to build a game.
Sadly though, I don't think there IS any way to make criticism sound nice. And for me personally, I've always seen criticism as a very odd way of saying you like the game... especially since everyone has different things they want out of a game, which of course clashes with other fans. That's just me though.
I still share the OP's sentiment though.

I know your sentiments, and I agree, criticism, no matter how you slice it, will always have a negative connotation to it (I mean, its definition is expressing disapproval of perceived faults). It's also more fractious since, as you said, everyone will have different criticisms to give, but it's the way it is. While it may be strange (and honestly, some people can be more tactful), at the end of the day we all want to see improvements in game.Sadly though, I don't think there IS any way to make criticism sound nice. Not everyone gives good/constructive criticism, on the same token not every one receives it well, and it can be subjective as well. It can sound rough some times it's best we say it directly as opposed to sugar coating it and losing the message. No matter what, any thing that seems confrontational, since it's also hard to convey tone and some times intent in text, will always feel awkward.![]()

I'ma go punch that.
Tank and DPS

It's true, it never comes off as positive or in a good manner...I find the only way to make it come out kindly is to not use accusing words, like "you" or "you did" etc. Hehe but I find it pretty rad how Yoshida said not only does he appreciate the constructive criticism, but that its worth way more then any praise. Gotta respect someone like that![]()
While people often tend to attack others who criticise, not knowing that in the end all they want is things to improve the game. People are stating that they're so tired of seeing "negative posts" and anything within that category with real criticism. One thing everyone should think about, is why there are so many that pop up. Especially at this time when we recently received an expansion. A lot of people tend to accept things the way they are and take these criticisms as attacks toward the devs, instead of considering that these types of discussions may pave the way to better content later. I kinda wish they will share what they did on their time off.
