For the longest time I thought you were being sarcastic in your post. Perhaps suggesting that the barren empty wasteland you are looking over is what Yoshi-P will come back to after his vacation.
Vacation time is over. You should be saying "Have fun working!"
And it's a legacy server..
Anyway, I won't disagree that they deserve a vacation. One thing I can say as a paying customer is, this new island exploration is what we deserved in the beginning of 3.0. I can appreciate the effort of them working on it, but it's honestly too little too late. They want to introduce this into a live letter with very little time covering it then later say, "btw, were going on vacation, so this actual new content will be delayed!" Before anyone says anything about a delay being nothing, consider the fact that I've been around since launch of 1.0 so I've seen everything this game has brought to the table. We've had the same content being recycled since 2.2.

I know the vacation time is over, but still :P
But to all the people who's complaining they took a vacation and delayed a Patch, needs to chill out. I know it is their jobs to work on the game, but like EVERY working person, they deserve a vacation. I get 6 weeks of time off of work every year, and thinking about Yoshidas team pretty much has been working without any breaks for 3 years giving up all this and rebuilding the entire game for us.
They have been humble towards us, its only common sense to be a little humble towards them as well. As I love it when I have people who has come to me at my workplace and telling me thanks for a good job. Really makes me feel great knowing they are satisfied with what I do![]()

I kinda wish they will share what they did on their time off.
Not a soul is telling the developers to never take a break or have a vacation, if that's what they get from these threads they are as blind as some white-knights are acting who think the team can do no wrong.
They will perhaps not give the entire team (Or at least word it as such) and delay content because of their poor planning. Hopefully if anything the complains will force upper managments hands and give them some well deserved staffing solutions instead of running the game on a skeleton crew. For all you know the devs are cheering the dissenters on because they themselves are also tired of having such a small team for a big task.

Technically, they already got back and are working again. However, it's still nice to see a thread like this among all the complaint threads that always pop up over every news announcement. Could they have perhaps planned their vacation better? Maybe, but they still deserved it.
I don't get why people insist on making such a big deal about this. I've got plenty of things to still do in the game itself, and other things I can play and do during the wait for 3.1. Though I think I may have finally found the root of the problem as to why people complain so fast and so much...
And lol at all the people complaining that a company is automatically bad just because they gave their entire staff time off for a holiday and what not. Mine does that too on most holidays, giving a day or two off (unless you use your vacation hours to extend that) for holidays like Christmas and what not.
EDIT: ... and there's those damn words "White-Knight" again. I swear, I'm going to start keeping track of how many times that's used.
