Not a bad idea OP.
Would be nice if they would allow chocobos to dig, similar to FFXI, maybe a better system.

I was just thinking about this last night when I was gathering. It would be really nice to be able to use some passive abilities while on your chocobo.
There's no logical reason flavor wise, or gameplay wise that one would have to dismount to "Look around." It's not equivalent to using a battle command or synthesis action. Because when surveying, you just dismount, use it and remount. It's just an necessary convenience that isn't justified for by gameplay or immersion. There's no reason it would be unfair to allow DoL to survey from choco-back.
Fair enough, seeing as its not a big deal to you never mind the rest of the people in this thread /sighI do see the movement speed moves being adjusted at some point since the Guild mark ones are pretty useless once you get chocobos. But I honestly don't think it's worth the time to allow you to use abilities on the chocobo it really just takes all of 2-5 seconds to get on and off a choco to check the area which doesn't really seem like a big deal to me lol.
People state their opinion based on what they feel, think, or have experienced. It's not like one person's opinion would dictate the outcome. I feel it's rude to insult or imply an insult on other people's opinion. If you have other opinion, just state it. We can discuss or agree to disagree. If you sigh at people who simply said he doesn't feel like it's a big deal, other people might also sigh at you for feeling it's a big deal.

It's a quality of life change, not needed or required but would be very nice to have. It isn't really useful feedback when you just go whatever its 5 seconds every use suck it up. It's really pointless needing to dismount every time you want to use it. DoL gets the most use out of having a chocobo and some of the zones have really ridiculous node layouts.

Wrong. He said that he could live with it because it doesn't bother him, and in addition he gave an opinion of what else he thinks would be more helpful.

I'd rather the team develop on abilities that gatherers can use to enhance their abilities with gathering rather then solely rely on passive abilities.
Jinko just didn't quote the full reply.
That kind of attitude (the /sigh over there and the page 1 reply) made me wonder if people who're allowed to speak up are only those who want change or want to demand/suggest new things. People who like or support the current system, as well as give the reason why they think the system is alright, has no place to voice their opinion? Sad.
As for the suggestion, since the dev team would like more opinion from players, I think it's fair to give reason why we want it, as well as the reason why, if, we think the current system is already good enough.

Though I don't mind too, but after keep hoping back and on the Chocobo none stop, my ear start bleeding from hearing the whistle sound and my thumb go numb after pressing it too much. Thanks for looking at the request LOL. Really appreciate it.
Honestly, though, I don't agree we should get the exemption and be able to use DoL abilities while riding the chocobo. I am a heavy gatherer, too, and I am very super uber happy I have a chocobo to ride out there while I'm gathering. I don't mind jumping off my chocobo to survey the land (use ability) for my next destination. It only requires 1 click of my mouse, or 1 hit of shortcut keyboard button which I assigned for my Chocobo Whistle. And it only takes like 1 second.
There is nothing to stop the dev from doing both though is there ?Wrong. He said that he could live with it because it doesn't bother him, and in addition he gave an opinion of what else he thinks would be more helpful.

Why even say I would rather they spent time on such and such ?
Fixing these skills to work whilst on a chocobo seems like a fairly small task compared to some of the things they have lined up, especially considering you can already change class and armor whilst on a chocobo.
Dev said they'll look into it but can't make any promise. It's not definite yet, either way of it.
