I believe the fine print that one is subscribing for "server access" and nothing else is more of a legal definition of what you are allotted. That way you can't sue SE for when the game (years down the road) goes under, to be compensated for monetary value of what your character holds in terms of the Odin mount, cash shop gear, or whatever you deem the esoteric gear to hold.

However, I'm certain is it expected that you receive updates at regular intervals for the service.
Because the example that you are only granted "server access" is like saying having a subscription to Netflix only allows you to log in. Regardless of how many or little movies/tv shows are on the service. It is expected that Netflix, upon paying them a subscription, that you receive updates in the form of more content.

Plus while I agree that they should be critiqued, I still believe people who "are entitled" are still justified. There should be a grey area between paying $100 over five months (buying Heavensward itself and paying for five months), and simply unsubbing. The grey area is voicing one's opinion.
