Error when trying to launch.

I have been having this issue lately where I get this error when trying to launch FF.

I have followed a few reddit suggestions changing IE's settings and a lodestone report and so far nothing has changed. To get on the game I either have to spam click it and pray to RNGesus or restart and spam again. Sometimes the launcher is just black. Let me know if there is any way to fix this. ;-;

Bump, I'm getting the same error message. It was working perfectly fine last night and today when I tried to launch the game it came up with the same error message as the original post.

update: I got the launcher to work, you have to disable your anti-virus or set an exception to it for the frontier thing it came up with to get it to work.

Windows Defender is the known issue for this.

For some reason it doesn't like the frontier site, so you just have to turn that off and it should launch fine.

The launcher is built around MS Internet Explorer and connects to frontier.ffxiv.com for most of the content. As Kory stated, create exceptions in your security for frontier.ffxiv.com. Also, add exceptions for the executables nested in the FFXIV installation folders--and make sure to double check your anti-virus for a section to add exceptions for running processes so you can also add the executables there (this is separate from the flat file scan that scans on read/write/execution, it also guards against processes after they load as well).

i play on ps4 and whenever i launch game it says an error has occured (NP-36147-1) then says hold down the PS button and select close application to exit the game.

PSN is down for maintenance....if you can't stay logged in to PSN, you get bounced on PS4 since the game periodically authenticates with them. PS3 users manage to get around it somewhat more than PS4 because of the different authentication model.
