Name Change when Race Change

For all those people who will have names that are only appropriate for certain races, just feel like a change, or just think a new race deserves a new identity. (roleplayers)

Ideas?

Edit: Ninja Looting can't be done on XIV. Items gets dropped to whoevers loot list, and you can give or claim it from there.
Also: Trading items to a player and them disappearing with your items can happen anyways, you're choice to risk the trade for the craft.
Also II: If someone is causing drama in a shell, being a bit of a rude player and you've blacklisted them, wouldnt the name change be reflected on the blacklist? I dunno, was just thinking out loud.

Set to bazaar you are seeking an item crafted, offering the items to be used from your inventory, by the crafter, and then you gain the final item. (Needs work? People are gonna QQ about crafts being failed through this.)

Did I miss a confirmation by a rep or something that we are getting race changes without a doubt? Not to be negative or anything - I just see everyone saying it's fact, yet I haven't seen a single quote. Last I read it was only a rep saying they might allow them. Would love some clarification.

Secondly, name change is an iffy thing. It can be abused, so it's something to be taken very seriously. The last thing we need is a wave of crafters accepting rare materials for a craft only to name and race change, never to be "seen" again. That's just one example, of course.There are plenty of opportunities to do ill with a name and race change, where as just a race change keeps you tagged as the same person.

These are good points man, this is why I was raising the topic for discussion.
If there was someway to, I don't know, see who the character was previously before they changed their name.

Hey.. what if after a name change, their old name hovered above their new name, faded out a bit, for a month or two... or three? :x Just an idea. Then it's all out in the open. No trickery. Sure it'd look silly.. but it should ease people's minds about name changes.
I'd put up with it if I got to change my name. :3

First: I agree, while they said they might allow it, they haven't said 100% yes we will allow you to change races. Not being negative, but I've come to learn with SE, until they say yes 100% I don't get my hopes up... and even then I know they might change their minds after the fact. >.<

Second: Totally agree.. in a MMO your name is everything and can either be a good or bad thing. People learn who people are by their names: Can they be trusted? Have they ninja looted people before? Have they caused problems within a shell or in a party? If name changes are allowed then the people we have come to trust/avoid (more so the avoid) can simply change a name and potentially hurt, cause issues or steal again.

I don't really like this idea... when I named my character at start I took it seriously and picked something I wouldn't hopefully despise later or want to change. Believe me, I'm not saying this to sound rude I'm just being 100% honest about the thread subject... I'm sorry if some picked names the don't like or want to change their name because of reputation or whatever the reason may be, but the players put themselves in that position, not SE so I don't feel SE needs to fix it.

When it comes to the new races and new names... well if people want to be a new race and the name don't fit I don't know what to say. That's like someone in FFXI who names themselves Redmage and ends up playing dragoon... you just gotta kinda go with it. lol I mean look at me, Katzchen in kitty in German... would be a funny name if I decided to play a Female Roe. XD

I have a character whose name I just don't like as much as I thought I did. My other characters are fine, but I'd love to change just her first name without having to remake her. D:
I would be happy if a name change cost money and could only be done a set number of times or.. once a year or less often. XD
It would stop people from changing all over the place, but those who really don't like their names could be happy.

As soon as SE said they'd look into it/might do it, people started claiming it as fact. ^^; It's unfortunate... they'll only confuse the rest of the community.

Pick an intelligent name and you won't have to change it later. The only people who usually regret their names and want a change are those who made nonsense/funny names to begin with. I can see a (one time) race change being a possibility only because of the potential new race options in our future (e.g. female roe/highlander/male miqote)
