Possibly. However the more I think of it, the more it feels closer to the concept of Treasure Hunts, where the monsters may force pop from treasure chests located during exploration.

There are balancing factors that have been revealed that indicate to me that they're not, however, going to be competitive. The fact that this can be Alliance content, and the Weakest of monsters factor into the strengths of an A rank Hunts mob. This means likely the greatest of chests will feature difficulties requiring a vast number of players to participate. So rewards may be party specific for multiple-party participation, not unlike our 24 Man raids.

That could be one way of discouraging competition. But again, this is all speculation. I'm excited to see what comes up. For me, even if there is competition. We have the certainty of currency gear, and the 8/24 man raids for those who don't wish to compete for loot. There seems to be enough fail-safes in this system for it to cover everyone.
