First, make sure your chat menu is scrolled all the way down.

Second, make sure the chat tab that you have selected has linkshell chat enabled for all linkshell channels. You can adjust those settings by going into in-game configuration - chat filters (something like that)

If you had selected your Combat tab by accident, linkshell chat may not show up.
