Why is it so unreasonable to suggest they hire someone else to do their work while they are on vacation? If I go to a restaurant and order a meal but the waiter's turn ends before it's ready, they don't make me wait until he comes back the next day... they get another waiter to cover.

I only give money to friends and charity without expecting anything in return. SE isn't either.
