Battlefield 4 has sold over 7 million copies to date and that's the numbers from over a year ago, that game was a horrendous pile shite on release. There will always be that vocal minority that scream the franchise's death, but they always go on. I'm sure we're all familiar with that. The thing is though, most MMO players don't care enough to post about their dislike with how things are going, and just unsubscribe.
a bit off-topic, but I think playing brand new bethesda releases is a bit like gambling. you may come by with some glitches and small bugs, but there's always some people who get their saves destroyed from major game breaking bugs which are often even part of the main story.

also, how much damage a brand has received usually only shows on its successor. battlefield hardline didnt do so hot as far as i know.

personally, i currently really dont know what to do. I quit raiding because having a fit schedule just didnt go over well with me anymore. my old static also exploded shortly after (they still play, just dont raid anymore). we were pretty "casual", clearing content late, but the people were fun and we made some slow but steady progress till savage.
capping eso and scribs is also getting old _really_ fast after youve been on the cap wheel for 2 years+. the new areas are great, but everything else is exactly like weve come to expect to. i usually subscribe for 6 months at a time, but i really need to think twice again this time. last time that happened with 2.3 which also didnt bring much worthwhile to the table.
