Fallout 4 is a Bethesda game and those last me hundreds of hours, and that's before mods.

I know someone is going to go "but not all FFXIV players are interested in Fallout", and you're right, but I wouldn't be surprised if a huge amount were. This is going to be the being release of 2015 by a long shot (I'm a huge Witcher fanboy and can see that).
You missed Legacy of the Void!

I concur, it is odd the amount of great games launching at the exact same time (well in this case a patch).

November seems too far for me really. October is too far. It really needed to keep with the 3 month cycle and launch mid-late September. I get they needed vacation, but did the ENTIRE team take vacation at the SAME time? I've never seen a business do this. I personally cannot take vacation at the same time as someone else in my department, nevermind the entire office. I'm also fairly certain if I told my boss that our department got a report out to a client 2 months later than normal because we all went on vacation, we'd probably be fired.

They're giving us less content than they've set an expectation for via having the patch delayed, yet we are paying more (sub still + cost of expansion). So, to me, the vacation excuse is pretty lame rather than warranted. I feel that I've had the services that I am paying for be misrepresented, and that discourages me from continuing supporting to support the devs. I'm also very bored of the game, and that discourages me from continuing to support the game.

TBH this just couples with the fact that I thought 3.0 was when they were making things interesting, but instead they're staying with the same "basic" formula. I quoted basic, because that is what Yoshi said himself. 2.0 was to get the "basics" and 3.0 and beyond would make it interesting. It's not.

So yes. Likely, SE will lose my business to Legacy of the Void and Fallout 4, and possibly F2P Wildstar.
