Its funny how Opinion (in this sphere of the internet) quickly becomes fact:

Vacation = 2 month vacation that delayed the patch by 5 months
Vacation = 2 week vacation that in turn pushed back the patch by 3 weeks for when it might have been released.
Sidecontent = Nothing worth doing because 210 (true 210) comes from Savage
RNG = Our savior from the grind of Savage
RNG = Our demise as this will become an eastern MMO where We play the same thing over and over again looking for decent stats on gear *coughDiablo3cough*
FFXIV Dev Team = A huge dev team with limitless resources since the game is doing okay
FFXIV Dev Team = A small, plucky dev team that rebuilt a dying game and are just now starting to see a profit.
*saving grace for the game* = Pretty much anything that hasnt come out yet (i.e. Relic will save this game for me...for a while... unless it's grindy.... I think....)
