Three new jobs, increase level cap with new skills included (and crafts to cover the increased level cap), unsynced party (ie solo dungeoning), loads of new dungeons, new primals, flying, new zones, new city, new idle town, new gear, new hunts, new quests, new gathering systems, FC crafting, airships... am I missing more? Probably.

If anything, we're very spoiled with how much we get in the patches (how many games would give you something like Gold Saucer in a patch?), some of them are near-expansion-quality in themselves. I have no issues with lack of content and I play a lot. I was told by someone the other day about how in WoW you're lucky to get a patch of FFXIV quality ever. Everything is expac except bug fixes and balancing, so I'm told.

If I played any other game as much as I play FFXIV, I'd probably be bored.
You're exactly right. HW did release a lot of stuff. Tons of stuff. Enough to keep people busy for a while, assuming they're actually engaging in it.

The thing is, there are people for whom much of what you listed there is of absolutely no interest. They only care about one or two things - usually hitting level cap as quickly as possible, and then clearing dungeons and getting better loot, as quickly as possible. Anything that doesn't contribute to those two things is considered "not worth it" to them, and so they end up not doing much of the content released. Anything they're required to do, they race through as fast as possible (these are the people who are freaking out when a dungeon isn't going quickly enough for them, etc.)

So, when they inevitably and understandably hit the wall of "nothing else (they feel is worthwhile) to do", you end up with threads/posts like this.

Here's the thing, and here's why I don't worry much about the doom and gloom of these posts. Those people exist in every MMO. They will never be satisfied, in any MMO. No MMO could ever be made that could satisfy them - unless it was nothing but running dungeons and getting gear, with nothing else. Apart from that, nothing will ever be enough for them. Ever. When 100% of someone's focus is on maybe 20-30% of the content offered, how can it be?

The thing is, their posts represent only themselves, and those who play with the same "go go go" mentality as them.

Some players are simply their own worst enemies... and never realize it.

For other players, who aren't in a hurry, who don't feel the need to "go go go", whom mix it up, and whose interests lie in closer to 70-80% of the content, they've plenty to do, and you're not going to see them complaining any time soon, if ever.
