I'm wondering how the timing of this is going to work with the next big update. Both seem to be end of october.... seems like a lot to take on at the same time.
Where's their compensation for having the Chaos datacenter not in Europe for the last 2 years while paying the same as the other two supported regions? They should get a free transfer option too, especially those that have been here since before the 2.0 version of the game, because of the information and options that they had back in the day (it makes no sense that even legacy players are left in the cold in this whole situation). That's not a nice way to treat those loyal customers that have been here no matter what problems they had with the game.Because it makes sense.
NA players who are on Chaos will suddenly get a WORSE gaming experience, so they are offered a transfer as compensation.
On the other hand the gaming experience of EU players outside of Chaos will not change in the slightest, so they don't get a compensation.
What's the point of having proper EU servers if you don't make it easier for european players to move there? And on top of that you make it easier for people to move away from them, stimulating their population to get smaller.

Move all servers to EU for 2 years then we can share the fun for everyone.
It does not defy logic or reason at all.
Ragnarok is a very full world and every day I have to queue to get into it despite being my starter world back in 1.0 for example (since the OP kept talking about Ragnarok)...so it makes sense to not allow free transfers to the world unless space is freed up on a large scale, it is possible a free transfer to it could be possible IF enough people transfer off it but not until then. Currently keeping it a charged for service to transfer to it is a way to better manage or reduce that influx while the server is near or at capacity.
It also makes sense to allow free transfers off the data centre for non-EU players which will open up enough space for that potential future free transfer to the worlds, but again you should not put the carriage before the horse. Put simply SE are doing it the smart way and there is logic and reason behind it, allow free transfers off the server for non-EU players first and foremost while not allowing for free transfers to it unless enough space is opened up as an end result of how many leave which is currently unknown as to how many will do so.

This problem only affects EU Legacy players who didn't pick Ragnarok back when the merge happened.
It would be quite exaggerated to say that it's a huge, mainstream problem. It's not. Only a small part of the current community is concerned.
That being said, I think Legacy users had a good amount of kicks in the butt already... So, giving them a free transfer would be quite nice.
The question is now, if EU Legacy players outside of Chaos would be offered a free transfer to the EU datacenter, would they use it or would they stay on their current server because they would most likely have to leave their FC and friends?
I'll guess that many of these players would just say "f**k it, I'm staying here! So long for the better ping"... which, combined with the already small population of EU Legacy players outside of Chaos results in an even smaller number of people in demand.
So, when you think about the actual number of EU Lecagy players willing to transfer to Chaos and the fact that, if they don't, they'll just keep the same experience (nothing will change for them) you can probably see why SE doesn't think it's worth it.
It's still sad for the people in that case, but at least it's more understandable.
It's a completely different subject that the fact that SE allows free transfers to worlds that are already full also defies logic and reason. Not allowing new characters to be created on those servers means jack s××t if at the same time everyone is allowed to transfer to those same servers whenever. They could lock individual servers down and not allow transfers to them - in general, this is not affected by region or the moving of a servers, at all.
The thing is, European players have been pushed to the side for too long (do take a look around and see how even much smaller companies can operate actual European servers from the launch of their games). Now this move is happening, actual European servers for the actual European players, and lo and behold, everyone and their grandmothers who are not European get a free ticket to adjust to it - people whose gaming experience has already been "desirable" so far as well. But not the actual European players, whom this is being done for. Not the actual European players, who have already been suffering a sub-par gaming experience for years. No, the actual European players, who are affected one way or another, are expected to pay even more to adjust to this new situation, to benefit from something that is being done for their sake. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but we all have been paying the same sub fee all this time, everyone's money is already in this move as much as anyone else's.
Yeah, completely ok indeed..........
Nostalgic...Because it makes sense.
NA players who are on Chaos will suddenly get a WORSE gaming experience, so they are offered a transfer as compensation.
On the other hand the gaming experience of EU players outside of Chaos will not change in the slightest, so they don't get a compensation.
It reminds me when we had in 1.x discussions about traffic and lag (there were only japan servers)...
Back then it was said it is our imagination and we just lack on skill...
"Worse gaming experience" -> its a slap into the face of everyone who struggled with titan landslide and any other problem caused by servers!
