    New? Boss Mechanics - Unsynchronised Muscle

    Hello,
    I am coming with a suggestion of (maybe, probably not) new boss mechanics that could be in dungeon or raid.

    I have a feeling that I have seen it already in FFXIV for a second (the invertion) and hoped I will be able to see it again.

    Unsychronised Muscle - a 5 second long debuff that cannot be canceled, inverts your movement (up is down, left is right) and is paired with AoE that can be dodged only by running to 2 directions, not all 4.

    Let me explain on picture how it would work:

    Instead of being centered on player, the AoE will be casted in such way, that you could escape it only by running to 2 directions. In this case it is running to right or down.

    Ofcourse you will get used to it after a few tries, but the point is, that you will see that you have to dodge to right or down and automatically will do it, and the inverted movement will make your brain hurt for a while and you will probably end up in the wrong side of the AoE.

    The AoE should give you enough time to dodge while running to the right side, but also shouldn't stay there long enough to let you dodge it even while running to the wrong side.

    I am not stating this is original mechanics invented by me and I would be glad if you could provide me with any iprovements if you have some.

    Europe is getting its servers in october. NA, JP, China, South Korea already have servers.
    Yeah, there are some players in India or Australia (for example), with higher latency, but I believe it is known that the servers aren't placed anywhere near them and by joining the game they somehow accept the possibility of high latency.
    I am not really sure why should game restrict itself because od a few % of community.

    Also after 2 years and lots of duties done trough DF or PF I have yet to meet someone having problems dodging AoEs due to constant high latency instead of being new to the fight, drunk or simply slow.

    Honestly, I have a permanent latency issue of .7sec due to having to use satellite internet where I live, causing me to have a much shorter dodge window than other players. I've learned to compensate for it by predicting boss patterns in dungeons after running them a couple of times, to the point that when I was experiencing an odd 1.5sec latency issue the other day, I didn't have any more trouble dodging attacks than the party members I had without it. I get that some people just can't learn to compensate for it, and I do have issues as well on new runs or with bosses who have a mostly random attack pattern, but for all the people out there who claim it can't be done or that we can't have harder mechanics such as this because of players with it, I strongly disagree.....

    On that note, I've also never understood people complaining about the measly .25sec latency due to servers not being in their native country. Try having a fraction of a second to dodge knock off moves or instant kill attacks, then start complaining......

    I'd love to see something like this in perhaps a single boss battle, and I don't feel it would affect players with latency any more than it would normal players. Though OP, this is generally just considered the "confused" status in most action RPGs......

    This mechanic would be so easy to bypass with high-end hardware with 0 risk of getting caught. The effect would also have to be client-side, which would have its own set of problems.

    I know about the confusion name, problem is, that in this game other effect is called like that - effect that makes you attack your teammates.
    That's why I decided to come with my own name idea.

    At this moment I have 140ms and I am from Europe, had no problems in any duty but..
    From my short experience anything over 200ms is unplayable without some programme (or the compensation you are talking about), but I would never say "don't add this, or that, there are people playing from unsupported areas that have 300ms and cannot deal with these mechanics."

    There are already mechanics that are tracking your position, also any dodge mechanics has to track your position and there haven't been many people using the old "WHAT? I HAVE BEEN OUT OF THAT AOE!" excuses lately.
    Atleast from my experience the tracking works fine, can't talk for everyone though.

    Welp, why not. The mechanics itself is pretty easy, but could be used as a filler between harder mechanics.
    Just trying to provide more ideas to developers.

    I approve of this.

    With Cox Wireless at my back and shoddy nerves in my hand there is zero chance I will ever avoid a mechanic like this. Zero chance.

    Honestly I feel like this game needs more dynamic encounters with less focus on perfect execution of rotation and pattern recognition. ("Then what would the focus be?" Awareness!) It seems like so much comes down to dodge orange circle to not die. I know this may seem like a weird complaint because of COURSE bosses have AoEs.

    But....it's a complaint of mine idk

    And this doesn't require awareness?
    Also.. it is almost the same as normal AoE dodging, just before moving you have to say to yourself, I need to move to right, so I have to push left.
