    It most certainly is closer to one than anything else.

    EDIT: And yeah, I am sure the UI team is involved with, for example, deciding where to apply server/client checks. Like when it comes to allocating stats, why is there a server check each time you change one stat instead of having just one server check when you click "apply changes"? They are very much intertwined!

If you're including LS Management in UI redesign then fairenough, but LS specific stuff needs to be sorted, its so frustrating. I'm sick of the amount of linkshells that retire daily...
    LS Stuff should be in 1.20 from what i got in the LIVE event.

    Also you can shout and get a PT and at least there is a system there that works but no body uses it. You cannot kick someone if they are offline, no way around it but binning the LS and starting over. You cannot kick someone who is hiding and abusing LS other than to hope he leaves or bin the LS.

    At least Searching has options and a working but unfriendly tool, where as LS has nothing other than the option of binning and starting over.
    I completely see the validity of both these points, but I feel like Jinkos argument is probably more pertinent to the idea of necessity. Just like some one said the environments work, although bland--so do Linkshells. I feel a working party search feature would aid players more at the moment. It would make grouping so much more accessible, especially new players--who I hate to say are the target audience at this point. SE wants to get more people into the game and having an easy way to group with others would be a great way to get new players started and meeting people, which is the whole point of an MMO at the end of the day.

    The only thing random about the crafting system is the way making HQ stuff works. IMO it's allllmost perfect.

    Well if more want Search system then that obviously is the more important one as its more demanded, and I always think that higher demand should be prioritized as it will make the masses happy. I just dislike that there is at least some option/subsidy for the party feature where as LS has nothing right now.

    But if I look at it at a programming stand point, the party system needs a lot less work it would seem as they've at least got it half working and know exactly how to proceed when they mentioned doing something similar to XI, so hopefully it will not be a long, long task, and we may even see both PT search and LS fixes within the next major patch.

    @Munba I hope so!

    I think it still relies on chance way too much, you can excel in one making an HQ item and then completely botch the next one using the exact same tactic.

    Am I the only person who loves FFXIV's UI? I've always felt it was utterly fantastic - it clutters as little of my screen as possible, looks clean, and gives me easy access to what I need.

    I'll personally take this over this mess (or even this or this) any day.

    Yeh it is clean and nice but I hate the buttons, the Alpha ones were so much nicer, and there are some changes I'd make, such as the blue Hue and the noise'd background I prefer flat.

    Not really a fair comparison. WoW has a pretty clean interface by default too, the only difference is it supports mods that let a player have as much information as they need. There's nothing wrong with choice.

    I was on the ropes about the original buttons, but the new larger ones that added in 1.18 seem to be fantastic. They're extremely crisp and clear on my screen.

    Only the second was a modded WoW UI, the third is unmodded WoW, and the last is Aion's UI. Even with WoW's default UI, you have that massive bar at the bottom covering far more of the screen than necessary, and the large unit frames for you and your target don't help.
