Information on future Patches?

I am looking for info on whats going to happen with this game in the future. I have yet to find anything that will give me info on specifically, future class changes. If someone can point me in that direction, would be much appreciated.

If there is nothing like this out there, I would like to know, what is the big secret? I feel like having to wait until patch day to find out if my class is getting buffed or nerfed is unnecessary. You would think keeping people better informed on future class changes would keep people interested in the game. Personally I am losing interest, and lack of being informed is contributing heavily to that.

I know most mmos have a ptr with pre patch notes informing players on what to expect in the near future. Does this game not have something like that. I don't know because I have yet to find anything.

I think something was going to released during TGS. Some news will probably be out this weekend or next week

Information on upcoming patches and game changes are usually shared through things like the Live Letter or other events. In fact, we should be hearing 3.1 information during the Tokyo Game Show today and over the weekend.

When you have a playerbase that loves to jump to wild conclusion and exaggerate everything you say, it pays to err on the side of caution when releasing information about new content and game changes. As for your specific mention of class changes, it's largely because we don't get big class changes in the middle of an expansion. Maybe minor adjustments to preserve game balance, but no big sweeping changes that really require a lot of discussion. And SE does tend to mention when classes are going to get adjusted though they usually have to be asked first and we don't usually know any specifics until patch day.

I'm personally fine with that though because SE maintains one of the more balanced MMOs out there so it doesn't require constant tweaking like in other games *cough*Warcraft*cough*.

A PTR and pre-patch notes aren't really intended to show players "what to expect in the future" though. The PTR is so players can help test and root out potential bugs and problems with the new content. The notes are there to tell the testers exactly what's going to be on the PTR to help them with testing. The vast majority of players just treat the PTR like a sneak preview though which kind of defeats the purpose.

Not that a PTR wouldn't be nice.

The Developers do a good job I think keeping us in the know about upcoming content, but patches very rarely offer any changes to classes besides some tweaks and balances. The core gameplay doesn't change outside of expansions and those tweaks and balances are likely kept secret because, until they are released, nothing is final. The backlash would be severe if they announced a buff early and it didn't pan out for whatever reason.

I'm surprised balance adjustments mean so much to you, is there are particular adjustment that you'd like to see? The community reps read the forums, maybe you could make a suggestion.

The TGS Letter From the Producer is about 18 hours from now.

There is no PTR and pre patch notes are usually only a day before the patch really. We only have live letters to go by or dev comments. It would be nice to know more of whats coming in the future but for now we just wait for live letters or trailers on youtube to pop up. There is a Japan event this week I believe where they should be annoucning more things.

There's a reason we get 'Please look forward to it' so much - because they don't want to set anything in stone. They give us decent chunks of information about what they are looking into implementing, just not when. It goes down so well in other games when the Devs make promises they can't keep...
