GC FAQ (Request)

Since there's a real lack of a great info site for XIV like XI's wiki, and there doesn't seem to be anything on here either (I've tried searching...) I'm formally requesting an FAQ for the Grand Companies.

How to join, what are the quests, what rank you need to be etc etc...


I was very disappointed to find out last night that I couldn't get the quest from The Maelstrom as a 23 miner, and I have no idea if it's because of a lack of mission progression, pre-requisite quests, or if I need a high enough combat class etc etc.


All the guy says is I have the smell of iron ore about me...

I agree. What are the level requirements on getting the quest to join the grand companies?

well it is a military thing in the story and people wanting you to kill stuff. it doe not take long to get to lv25+ now since you can save leves.

eorzeapedia.com has a lot of info on FFXIV but they are not entirely complete in some of their pages. It requires some of us who have completed or are in the prossess of completing quests, crafting, jobs, etc. to inform others.

I'd like a FAQ too but, we could pool together and start putting our knowledge into that site.

You need rank 22 in a combat class, so Disciple of War or Magic, to start company stuff.

I easy solo almost everything with a lv. 25 Marauder, the only trouble was to kill the golem at the Grindania quest. You need lv. 22 DoW or DoM to start, but to continue and finally join the GC you will need lv. 25.
