Share some with me Baron! I've come back refreshed after my late night insomnia ramblings~
Hey Kitty o/
And I agree with you, in that Palooka is one of the Goblin players that has been doing her best to help the server. The sheer amount of helpful parties she organized is something to be proud of.
Also, there's nothing wrong with server transferring. If one goes to such lengths, it usually means that they're no longer satisfied by the advantages of a small server and getting too stressed by the inconvenients. FFXIV is supposed to be fun, so why would you stay somewhere if you're not having fun anymore.
I hope you guys are having fun in Leviathan

I think the general population of Goblin is still healthy enough to be a fun server, the problem is we're leaking hardcore raiders and crafters like nobody's business. A lot of active but casual FC's have recently left too, so I'm not really having the same feeling of recognizing people everywhere I go which is one of the things I came to love.
Perhaps our server will get merged with another smaller server, or with any luck we will get some people from the EU data centre because Goblins are now an awesome part of the story! (and you know that's how people pick!)
And that guy above me shit talking Palooka, she's one of the few people who genuinely care about this server and is constantly trying to help others, build community and make learning parties. We can all have our off-days but I seriously think a few of the others in this thread are the kind of people we could do without while trying to rebuild Goblin.

You know a server is too small when you basically have a server reunion on the second page of a thread.
Not a friendly one, either.

I think we got more people now than at the start but overall less activity because the content is boring and unrewarding, most activities can be done alone. So it seems slower and less crowed cause most of us do weekly eso cap and run alex. Then not log in again till next week.
Love how this thread has devolved into personal attacks. Stay classy, Goblin.

A lot of people are just bored of current content. There is actually a lot of stuff to do but it's not properly incentivized for them. I often see friends log in, pound out an expert and log right off again. I have faith that we will see a boost in lively players in November when 3.1 hits. As much as people complain about it, the relic chain is a big incentive to keep people subscribed and grinding it out every week. The other stuff like the Void Ark, Airships and LoV look promising even if it is not your thing. It'll give the more casual and midcore players something to work at.
As for the Endgame Raider pool, I don't have a solution outside of a server merge. As long as the community treats Gilgamesh as the "You must roll here to Raid" server, that is where they will eventually flock to. Bosslite and Rio said it before but it would take our entire FC leaving to get me off Goblin. And even then I would feel sad because we would be hurting the players and FCs left behind.
Lace in the place.
As stated, it's simply low tide between patches. That may or may not be why some left, but I personally don't think it makes much of a difference.
Why, you ask? Because for those of us still here, this is OUR server. OUR home. We make it what we want it to be. Want more raiders? Train more raiders (which I can say I've done personally). Better economy? Stimulate the market. 2 FCs shouldn't make or break a server at all.
I'm surprisingly low profile online, but you all know I'm always willing to help out. Not much of a crafter, and working on gathering, but I can raid/DPS/heal/teach like a badass. AND be sexy doing it. I would be more than happy to help anyone here, even if you'd still want to leave
Remember: WE make this server what we want it to be.

Wow, plenty of faces here I haven't seen in quite a while. I actually transferred from Goblin to Adamantoise mainly due to the size of the server. I found that a small server is a lot like a small town, eventually everyone begins to know your name and it's almost impossible to have a falling out with one individual without upsetting a whole group of people. Progression was also complicated, I often had to wait for certain people (Some of them are here in this thread) to help me clear content due to lack of static options.
