    MCH Casting Animations [SUGGESTION]

    (Does this go here? I don't know? I have no idea where to put ingame suggestions)

    This seems like a really dumb thing to complain about, but no one else seems to be talking about it, and a friend said I should say something, so...

    Let's talk about Gauss Barrel. This isn't about removing Gauss Barrel, or changing the cast time, etc.
    I haven't used it a whole lot yet because I'm still on the road to 60 (MCH 54), but so far I don't mind the cast time, really.

    And yet I find myself avoiding it anyway, because the cast animations added to the skills make me cringe. Rather than having something that makes sense, like bards have, Machinist has like... some kind of bizarre arm wiggle where they shake the gun around. It's embarrassing. I feel stupid using it. I understand that this seems really trivial, but it's really, really bothering me. It would just be nice if we could be given a cast animation that makes a little more sense and looks less... ridiculous.

    They won't be changing it anytime soon, but I do agree that the casting animation while you have GB on is ....pretty bad and annoying.

    Unlike BRDs where it looks like they're charging up their bows for max damage, the way that MCH hold their guns while casting is really not too different from how some beast tribe THM (maybe even 1.0 races?) would hold their staff up against their head while casting spells

    Sorry but what? How does one charge up a bow by holding an arrow in their quiver? if anything the charge animation should be them drawing the arrow further but that's not even the case. WM looks just as stupid as GB because it makes no sense, somehow spending a little bit more time holding an arrow in your quiver powers up your shot just like flailing our gun around increases the shot.

    It needs to change. Hell, Just use a double Reload animation while we're casting. Rationalize the bonus damage and Cast time as you literally stuffing an extra round or two in the chamber.
    While we're on the subject of weird casting animations, I love Wanderers Minuet casting animation, though they REALLY need to speed up the shot animation post-cast though. Its still tuned for when it was an instant skill which makes a mess of the animations in general and has led to some weird unresponsiveness from my shots (This could have more to do with latency though).

    Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking! Like, just additional reload animations added to skills that get cast time with GB. Or even just additional time added to taking aim.
    Gun safety 101: DO NOT HOLD THE GUN UP AND FLAIL IT AROUND (also you look really lame doing it).

    Yeah. I actually like MCH a lot but the wiggle of the gun when casting made me quit it.

    I agree it looks really silly for MCH. I've heard a few FC members complain about it as well.

    I'm going to go a off topic here a bit here but I honestly I wish they would bring back Bards attack animations from the 2.0 beta when using WM.

    They cut off all animation of their lower bodies since people couldn't stop running around and complaining about sliding but even though there was sliding the animations looked SO much smoother and cooler than what we have right now. I really like the cool poses they would do after a shot instead of their upper body flailing and rebounding around like we have now.
    Machinist suffers from this too, they made it so the lower body just stays planted in the ground while only the upperbody is animated.

    If anything, I wish WM and GB would make it so the old lower body animations played while in it.

    Yeah, I've always found it a little strange that the lower body stays completely immobile for the BRD skills. It makes the animations look a little weird. The same thing goes for the Machinist animations (what I've seen so far anyway, I'm only level 51).

    I interpret it as the gun powering up for an extra powerful blast. Doesn't bother me much.
