    Tank enmity generation in FFXIV is so generous that it almost feels patronizing. Nothing like ye olde MMOes.

    For hate to become a problem, you must be greatly below the average ilvl of your party or using your skills ineffectively (eg. wrong stance, wrong combo, bad positioning for AoE). The multipliers on skills and abilities are too great for you to not have hate otherwise.

    And because this is the DPS forum: don't hold back. Ever. Hold your tank accountable. The tools tanks have at their disposal were not created in a vacuum; they consider the enmity generation of other roles. Do your utmost, push your limits and expect the same from your party.
