Hi everyone, I recently started playing. I wanted to play in a lively talkative high pop server. I picked Sarg because Balmung and Giglamesh were not open for creation. Did I make the right choice?

While personally from Gilgamesh, and loving it, any of the three you listed are great. Enjoy the game and have fun!!
I usually recommend Balmung but really there's a lot of good choices. As long as you're making friends and having fun, don't look back!
(And welcome to FFXIV, by the way)
If you're looking for a high population server, just keep trying until you get into Balmung. Best bet is to try just after maintenance, it's basically the only time there's not enough people online to trigger the overcrowded flag. Not even sure why they have that, or multiple servers for that matter.
Gilgamesh tends to be open at very early morning hours. (i.e., 3-7am EST). So if you wanted to try and sneak in, that's when to do it. Sarg is fairly popular from what I've heard, though if roleplay is your forte, you definitely may want to consider a transfer. Unfortunately, that is pretty much the only way you'll get into Balmung.
Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in and ask a question about my server (I've been subscribed for almost a month now): Leviathan. Is it pretty good? I really enjoy my character, so there's no way I would ever delete him to start on a new server - I'd be willing to pay the money to do a transfer if need be. But anyway, the server seems... quiet... but I don't really have anything else to judge off. I mean, there are lots of people in the main cities (especially Limsa), but I rarely hear lots of people talking out loud even in the city zones - is that normal? Maybe I'm just used to city chat always being crazy in WoW.
Hi! I play on Leviathan server I usually have shout off because all the chatter. But since a lot of my fellow fc members are taking breaks I have /sh on (missing the chatter now). Starting zones will be quiet since its old content try joining a free company and few social linkshells.Hi everyone! Reads the forums often...rarely post
Yea, something I figured is that maybe most people are chatting in their linkshells and such. Thanks!Hi! I play on Leviathan server I usually have shout off because all the chatter. Were are you from OP? Only matters much if say you live in Europe but are on a NA server because may be latency issues. Bryndyr or whatever it be called also seems rather popular.
And Rally, myself i am also from Leviathan for well over a year and a half now and have found the community is usually very helpful![]()
