Hello, I keep getting a crash with a MS error report every time I get to the end of the chocobo cutscene where the lalafell (uldah) asks me to name it.
Hello, I keep getting a crash with a MS error report every time I get to the end of the chocobo cutscene where the lalafell (uldah) asks me to name it.
My girlfriend (Smitten Kitten / Lindblum / doesn't bother using the forums) has the same problem at the moment. Oddly enough, I got mine perfectly fine. She did hers moments later and her PC crashed. I logged out, logged in as her on my PC (we sit next to each other) and... the game crashed on my PC at the same point.
EDIT: A few other people with the same problem, but after multiple attempts it eventually worked. If it doesn't work for anyone, try to rent a chocobo first then go back and re-attempt procuring a personal chocobo. This helped Smitten and others. And thanks to Dakko Kimi and Kaete Cousland for figuring out this process with us!![]()

Welcome to Forum: Technical Support!
I'll do this for my GF's PC (Smitten Kitten)...
Steps:
1.Handed in Flame Chocobo Issuance to uhm... you know, the chocobo guy in Ul'dah. I forget his name!
2.Went through normal process up to the point that he tells you to name your chocobo.
3.Window goes dark (chat window etc were still visible), game crashes. I asked Smitten and she advised that no FFXIV-specific error came up - it was the standard Windows 7 "program no longer responding" message.
Date & Time: 10-08-2011 06:17 PM (Scotland / UK / BST)
Frequency: Always, until a chocobo had been rented. After renting a chocobo and then retrying, problem was resolved.
Platform: PC
PC Manufacturer & Model Number: Homebuilt Computer
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
ISP: Virgin Media
Type of Internet Connection: Broadband (Cable)
