Honestly, if you've made a group and someone is dying to the knights more than once or twice, kick them. Might be hard, but they've more than likely lied to you and are wasting the time of several other people.
I approve of this addition.
Anyone saying it's unfair, well guess what? You can make a party finder yourself too, you know?
Do you really think you're the only person who's wanting to learn the fight on your entire server?
I run learning parties, all the time. In-fact, even when I clear and want to farm, I make learning parties because I find easier to teach people instead of expecting them to know the fight.
There are so many people who, once they join, say: "I've been waiting for someone to make one of these!"
I don't understand why people just sit around looking at party finder and don't make these parties.
I constantly run: FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE. NO VIDEO OR INFO NEEDED!! Parties because I know some people want to experience the fights first hand without a guide, which is fine.
That being said, it's annoying when you make a "FARM" party and people are clueless. EVERY time I make a farm party, there is always one or two people who haven't even stepped into the arena and you don't know that until you fight a few times. It's always "Oh lag." "Oh i've done this before, just rusty," or whatever excuse they want to come up with. At least when I know its a learning party I can remain calm about it. In a learning party I can understand why people are messing up. I can understand why someone has died 10 times to knights.(not saying I've let this happen in a farm, but that's not the point) So, as a result, to lessen the rage I've started to do learn parties only. Sometimes I get some clears, sometimes I get some people who absolutely are impossible to teach, but at least I'm not dealing with some sneaky liar who wants a free clear/carry.
@Archaell, I mean, even if he didn't benefit from being honest (which I still believe he did), he shouldn't have joined the party in the first place.
Of course I'm glad he was honest. But we still didn't have any obligation to help him after he ignored PF rules, and we did.
What they should have or shouldn't have isn't the point. My concern is how does the story help you to promote your suggestion?@Archaell, I mean, even if he didn't benefit from being honest (which I still believe he did), he shouldn't have joined the party in the first place.

Imagine that you are a person who snucks into farm parties, let's say exceptionaly skilled, so that you can one shot it (some players are cocky). Now you can either lie and get a chance to clear it, or be honest and get what? Few friend requests? That's great, buuut you aren't looking for friends (hollow names on the list), you are looking for the clear. So ultimately it comes to one question - Have you helped the guy to get his clear? I am not saying you should have helped him when you were farming, I am saying you should have waited till you had time to help him, so that your story can reach better moral high ground.
As the farm party you had no obligation to help, no arguing about that, but when you decided to bring it here as "honesty = benefit"... that's where you should have helped your own cause more.
I'm confused as to what your point is.. yes, we did help him clear, just not when we wanted to farm. We weren't going to risk taking him at that moment and have him leave, wasting our time. He got the clear when we were done farming.
Also the whole 'they are ultimately looking for the clear' point completely enforces this thread and why this option is needed :P
That was my point. It sounds much better when the message changed from " polite buzz off" to "we helped him afterwards".
And now I can say "Anecdotal evidence, you bloody elitists!" :P
Ahh okay, yes, just to clarify we did help afterwardsand I've actually posted screenshots in the thread of helping people out due to being called elitist that much XD.
@Archaell
While you do make excellent points, but it's very rare to have really good newb in farm pt. Unless if they have tried to clear it forever and seen enrage or whatever...
Also thank you for the support.![]()
I am actually kind of astounded this is an issue. People do that sort of thing? All of my clears have been either with my FC or in the DF, except for Thornmarch. I kept checking for Whisker farm parties, and when one started, I sent a tell to the leader asking if I could come heal it, even though I'd never cleared. Because I knew it would be a strain on people to go in completely blind, I watched a few How-To videos on Youtube, and at least had a working understanding of the fight. The guy asked his party, the party agreed, I joined up. First round took 11 minutes to clear, because I missed the Moogle-Go-Round debuffs once, and I was too close to the Moogle that taunts into the pool of death the second time. I apologized, they were fine with it.
We cleared, and proceeded to have <3 minute clears for the next 30-45 minutes. Two other people got whiskers ( I got outrolled on a 94 shdafiuahsf ).
I cannot fathom someone being so rude as to not take the other seven people into account. The Party Finder is there to accomplish SPECIFIC goals. If you want a clear, earn it. As someone who is a fresh 60, I absolutely support this.
First time I did the EX Ifrit / Garuda / Titan I did it in PF, and I apparently accidentally marked it as a farm party. So I offered to run it as a farm instead of clearing the three, because that was my mistake. They were good sports, and cleared the other two with me. ( Ifrit is a bitch and a half on EX. D= Even unsync'd )
An MMO is a community, and it is up to all of us to treat each other with respect. This isn't an 'elitist' or 'selfish' request - it's one that's coming on the cusp of someone who's been disrespected repeatedly. A farm party has a specific goal. Only join if you're willing to contribute to that goal, not your own. To the people who say that this is selfish, or that clear parties will evaporate...
The DF will never go away. Sure, it might be more difficult, but who said everything has to be easy?
