I'm just trying to say, when you say things like "I might even start thinking bad of you as a person when you could be the coolest person to be around." you drive away future players that might have bothered to learn a fight enough to farm with you, because, frankly, that's a crappy attitude.

Okay maybe I should've worded myself better here.

What I meant is if I am in farm party/make one myself and I get newb joining that party that no one knows is new until we go in and see that bonus. That is shitty, waste more time and might make me think bad of you.

It's totally different thing if this person asked "Hey down to 5%, can I join?" That is being HONEST with me and rest of the group.

And that's a valid argument, which I haven't disregarded. I'm just saying, don't be so quick to say "I don't want to carry noobs" because things like that only drive away potential additions to the farm pool, because people like me will be less likely to work hard to learn a fight to join people who look down on others..

This I also meant when sneaky newbs join to FARM party and tell no one in party. Totally different situation if I am being ASKED to help or join to CLEARING party myself.

This thread is 0% about being a dick to noobs.

It is about people being dicks to other players by joining farm parties and expecting a carry.

What about instead of clears (which is kinda ineffective) make the option to block players who haven't cleared the fight with let's say 10 new players.

It does the same thing. The players would have to finish the fight at least twice and push it morelikely thanks to their own skill as in groups with new players their contribution would be more important.

This way you could have farm parties with more experienced players and also motivate these players to help newbies to learn fights so that they could unlock the farm party option.

Skill is only half of the problem, Archaell. The majority of the issues are people who just want the very first clear and then won't touch the fight again for a while.

Me and most of the people I know are not joining or opening PF groups anymore because of the people, that are ignoring the written rules.

Instead we are collecting people from raidgroups and FCs we do know.

So there is an issue with PF that seriously needs to get adressed to get people back into PF again.

Block people out of farmgroups is one of them. But there is more that have to be done with rules.

Someone joined our farm party, and said 'I'm new but I'm going to watch the video now.' Our party told him this was for experienced players only and that he could add us and we would help him clear sometime. He said it was no problem, added us and left.

That's all it takes guys.. a little honesty saved him from being blacklisted by 7 other people and also helped him find people to get a clear with.

So the guy was honest and you humanly removed them? How is that helping your cause exactly?

You should have waited till they actually got their clear or at least chance to clear it. Till then the story is incomplete and it is just pointing out that being honest can harm your own progression.

He was removed because he had no idea of the fight. The point I was making is that instead of him getting himself blacklisted by multiple players and making himself look bad, he made a few friends and got himself a clear out of it without being a dishonest leech. He benefited himself by being honest.

As much as I like to help people, at that moment, we wanted to farm. We weren't going to drop that to teach someone the fight and then have him possibly leave because he had the clear. Being honest didn't harm his progression, it allowed him to progress, just not in a party which was formed for farming.

This! I don't see any problem with this. Newb join, tells that he's new but group tells that they're looking for exp people. You see this new person could've chosen to lie and say he's been down to 10% or whatever. He was HONEST and admit that he has no exp at all.

Wording was good enough, but not everyone would see few friend requests and not being black listed as benefit.

The player joined your group without knowing the fight, okay that's bad. But they said it right away, which leads to assumption that if they were allowed to clear it with you, they would have stayed for the farm afterwards. They basically got a hug when they wanted to get a cookie. You think they benefited from your interaction, I can't completely agree with that. As long as they weren't provided help with the fight the benefit is just hypothetical. They might benefit from it evnetually, they might not. Based on their behaviour I wouldn't expect them to ask for the help themselves, which means that it does not allow them to progress in any way.

Really wish there was a way to create pfs that you can set a minimum boss percentage achieved, sick of joining or making meteor plus groups for thordan and spending 90mins wiping to knights or below..
