Yeah, I understand why people do it. I understand that not everyone is a lazynik looking for a carry, but some feel that they just can't get a clear any other way. That's completely not true, though, and the end result on a farming party is generally the same either way. It tends toward people getting upset and the party breaking up, therefore thwarting the goals of both the farmers and of the person looking for a clear. On the odd occasions that you do actually kill it, probably 7 times out of 10 the person that wanted the clear snatches whatever loot they can, says 'thx gotta go dinner' and bails. It's frustrating on so many levels.

Nahh I mean, we only have so many customization options so it's bound to happen at one point or another. There's some differences with the features, but the overall look is pretty similar. I've seen a few people ingame that are pretty close and I always have to stop and gawk at them and compare them to my character (then skitter away when I see that they're not actually afk, lol xD).

Ok then, if you been playing MMO for 12 years, what mmo?
    also whats a gmod??
For the most part the three big ones are Everyquest, Runescape, and FFXI. before and between those just a few no name ones untill I started FFXIV. What I call a GMod is a Game Moderator. When you post a report or a complain a GMod (Game Moderator) will contact you in game about the issue. In all my cases no sooner then 30 minute.

    why hate on options?
I don't hate on option as a whole any option to help PF groups find like minded people is a good thing. But acting an option that flat out stops someone from joining outside of the Ilvl option is not a good thing. It can drive a wedge into the community with an almost tribal why of thinking. People only playing with a few select group of friend. Or screening people like criminals before being accepted into the group. In games like MUD's, TB/RTRPG's, and D&D like RPG's those are amazing feature. But not in games like FFXIV that thrive on the social aspect. The game is almost build around having to acknowledge the people around you.

ALSO ps3 players have to log out (if they don't own a pc) to access the lodestonec on ps3 browser and i can say with out a doubt it is CUMBERSOME to do. Lodestone/mobile is NOT ps3 browser friendly.
I'm sorry. it's been a long time since I've been on a PS3. You're right about the PS3's web compatibility.

I understand it's frustrating but an option to block him does not solve the problem. Then you have the farmers waiting longer for the farm and you have the noob still sitting there with no clear. At least when the noob getting out of the way maybe now he'll come back for a farm to get the loot he needs.

A quote comes to mind when I think about this debate. "The rich get richer and the poor stay poor"

i know what you was saying about gmod, I was just teasing as ur literally the only person in 11 years of playing 30 mmo has ever called a GM a Gmod. (and i met alot of ppl)

Party finder groups are not meant to be all inclusive, yet people treat it as such. It not so much about blocking newbies, its the ability to set up a farm party, as a farm party. Meaning if you haven't cleared it, you can't join. It also fosters communication as it will get players to ask leaders to join. It will also increase the likely hood those farm party go'ers befriend each other an run more content in the future.

I played ff11 for 7 years, had 75 characters (rerolls) and having 5 of them hit 50 4 of those hit 75. and 1 hit 95. I was a level 95 dancer on Lakshmi on my final day i logged in ff11 about 2010 when my 360 died.

I still kinda think your talking outa ur rear though as nothing you state makes any sense on how ppl play mmo. And honestly I'm not liking your suggestion to force players to help someone. I spend most of my time in mmo helping players. And i rarely do content for shinies, but on the rare occassion id like a certain item/gear set i much rather farm it midly headache free then constently explaining fights to fresh players who bail after they get their clear.

Which does cause groups to disband.

I say GMod because in world GM stands for Game Master. Or someone people call it a DM Dungeon Master.

    I'm back I'm back

Took a break and when I come back I see out friend keeps at it... listen.... my friend...

Everything you've barking all night has just been SUBJECTIVE ASSUMPTION, you can't prove anything you are claiming it's going to happen, so don't put your opinion as fact because they aren't, a function that don't allow new players on a party finder is not going to create any segregation of any sort and won't hurt this community in any way shape or form, you are over reacting over a matter of an option to allow players to have a more secured and enjoyable experience.

No one says that new players won't be able to talk/see/interact with higher skilled players with experience on those fight, no one is stopping the new players to watch the same guides those skilled players make specifically STEP BY STEP for them to see watch and learn, no one is stopping them from getting help from FC members and FRIENDS.

Honestly DROP it, whit the last post you send me you went way OFF TOPIC and since theno most of your post has been almost non-sense hitting different point with not clear outcome.

It's an OPTION not a mandatory segregation of players, it's supposed to make people's life easier, it's not harming no one aside from the moron who abuse such party with that in my world means JUSTICE (I'm not batman tho)

And to answer to you question about "WHAT IF IT'S MY ALT"

R - Send a tell to PT leader and ask if you can join...

Of course I can't show you a man in a lab coat saying THIS WILL HAPPEN! But you can see it with your own eye what happens to communities that are allowed to shut out entire groups of players. I always hate bringing up WoW but it's really prevalent there and it's also pretty bad in Ever Quest and Guild Wars if I had to name a few. Just because someone sounds good does not mean it's good. Can you honestly name a single name that lets you filter out entire chucks of the community that is not full of teeming full of toxic players? You'd be hard pressed to. If you want to be able to filter everything in a group down to the smallest detail, then play with friends.

PS: I'm arguing against the idea because it's toxic in nature. Yoshi P has already said those filters will never be a thing. =P So that's a weight off my mind.

Not one person is blockong anyone from anything. You you just read the title, or have absolutely no idea what the thread is/has been about.

First offb DF and PF are not the same nor remotely the same.

DF- set up to be all inclusive for player to play the game and get content done.

PF- a system for players to form and join groups for like minded reasons. Joining a farm party to farm, joining a learning party to learn, joining a clear party to clear.

It was suppose to be exclusionary. It has been stated many times that having this option doesn't change anything. People who haven't cleared the content are not welcomed in farm parties anyway, this option just enforces it.

Try seeing it less toxic/elitist and more open minded, (way you come off you just read the title and nothing else)

player A forms a farm party- the comment states you need clears.
player b joins looking to clear but says nothing or gives generic replies to stay
players cdefg join and have clears.
Party goes in and "new to duty pops up" there is a shi fesat over who lied, leader forces the group to leave and questions everyone. Player b doesn't communicate it was him. and leader disbands the party.

Player b doesn't get his clear while the rest question each other who lied and start just blisting everyone.

This option prevent that from happening.

It is also harrassment to break player agreements. If a party leader sets up rules for their group, as a player you agree to those rules by joining, which fall under the player agreement part of the ToS. So it is reportable.

Anbd player b could be reported on "disruption of game" due to preventing the players from farming in that group due to player b joining under a lie.

I actually have talk to a gm about this, because I had an incident on the tonberry server where i met the rare troll group jp have. I was in a df party lvling my sch, the blm started to pull making it harder for me to keep the group alive. I politely asked to stop, which the blm started to leroy jenkins in dungeon. The group refused to vote kick him out and group abandon so i was forced to leave, taking a 30 min penalty. GM told me it was considered disruption of gameplay. Pretty much preventing players from doing content as agree'ed upon causing it to stop is considered that because it is preventinbg the people from doing the content the way they set it up.

GM is term that predate MMORPG's It's referring to the person who runs a game of dungeons and dragons and control's the story. Gmod is just another way of saying Game Mod with "Mod" being a shortened form of the word Moderator. This is all common gaming vernacular. A lot of Wow's system where in add ones that 90%+ people used. But they did exist because I used them myself. A program with a download count of tens of millions upon tens of millions.

Not one person is blockong anyone from anything
Even with out oing into detail on the OP's views on the subject expressed in all her views. You do know the title is "Block first timers from the partyfinder" You're clearly the one who is a little lost on the nature of her idea.

When it comes to farming, I'd sooner wait a bit longer to get someone that knows the fight than deal with someone that doesn't. Like I said, I love teaching people things but there are appropriate times and places to do it. Me teaching someone should be by my own choice; I don't feel that I should be basically forced to do it by someone that chose to completely disregard what my party is all about. The only way the poor stay poor in this case is if they don't take the initiative to learn the content.

Arguably, people that disregard a Party Finder description simply because they want a clear are pretty toxic themselves.

I'd like to see a link to that quote from Yoshi P.

She also explained what she meant by that in the first post. We're not looking to completely block people from PF, because then how would we make learning or clear parties? We're looking to prevent without clears from joining parties that want people with clears.
