You don't need to learn anything now. if you want to do X content on this game just type www.youtube.com and watch mr happy guides or someone else, its much better learning by your own than wipe 22394732 times.

It's not people being new that I have the issue with, it's people being new and joining something specifically for experienced players and wasting their time just to benefit themselves. If people are new in duty finder or a clear or learning party (pretty much anything that isn't a farm) I'd be happy to explain and help even if they haven't watched a video. ^^You don't need to learn anything now. if you want to do X content on this game just type www.youtube.com and watch mr happy guides or someone else, its much better learning by your own than wipe 22394732 times.

This thread is cracking me up. So far I have yet to see a single person come in and make a coherent argument against this idea other than "that's selfish" or "that's elitist". These are not arguments, these are opinions that need a proper argument to back them up.
To the selfish argument:
- How so? Its a completely optional feature in a search feature that is only used to find like minded players. The point of PF is to able to filter out those that don't want to do what you are doing. If someone joins a PF on the premise of abusing the people for personal gain then in fact that person would be the selfish one.
To the elitist argument:
-It is VERY easy to set up a learning/ clear party. I join them all the time for giggles and to help new players. I know that I'm not the only one that does so. I bet if you make a clear party in the PF then you will have 7 like minded individuals in 15-20 minutes. All Luna wants is to have that same access to farm items from primals.
As I said in the opening statement, please don't just run in the thread and not provide a solid reason and argument as to why this would not be a good idea. It doesn't help anyone.
@Karateorangutang
I know right, everyone against this idea is pretty much acting like a troll in a sence. This does nothiong to them, just cleans up the party finder. We need more options on that thing because its a bit of a mess at the moment. Its hard to filter out parties, and it can make it hard to start one as it gets burried under "selling dye" "selling content" "selling fc" "selling house" adverts, which yes those do happen on tonberry. We also need more filters, to prevent players we don't want in our groups sice its easy to join. What they should do is put in an app system like FC. I'm not too keen on the auto joining (personal opinion) And it is sad people treat Party finder like duty finder and duty finder like party finder. People want perfect df runs, and bully players out but call bs on partes not being all inclusive.
Thanks for the support, bump![]()
my only issue with video guides is I cannot hear (i'm deaf) which is why I never do ex or savage cos I don't have the strength to sit and watch a video for like 20 times to figure out what myhappy is showing since there's not subtitles and yes I am aware of auto closed caption but the problem with that is, 90% of it just doesn't make sense grammar-wise so i'm even more confused AFTER watching the video....You don't need to learn anything now. if you want to do X content on this game just type www.youtube.com and watch mr happy guides or someone else, its much better learning by your own than wipe 22394732 times.
You would probably do better with MTQCapture's videos. They tend to be much easier to follow than Mr Happy's simply because they don't go as in depth. They're more about teaching you the very basics, phase by phase, with a review at the end of each phase. She frequently presents some MS Paint visuals to illustrate positioning as well. Barring that, you could always try putting up a learning party in Party Finder. If you explain in the PF what the issue is, you may find some people willing to help. ^^my only issue with video guides is I cannot hear (i'm deaf) which is why I never do ex or savage cos I don't have the strength to sit and watch a video for like 20 times to figure out what myhappy is showing since there's not subtitles and yes I am aware of auto closed caption but the problem with that is, 90% of it just doesn't make sense grammar-wise so i'm even more confused AFTER watching the video....
Consolegameswiki has some good bullet point rundowns of most of the instances. Sadly, I don't think they have any coil beyond maybe the first one, same for alex.my only issue with video guides is I cannot hear (i'm deaf) which is why I never do ex or savage cos I don't have the strength to sit and watch a video for like 20 times to figure out what myhappy is showing since there's not subtitles and yes I am aware of auto closed caption but the problem with that is, 90% of it just doesn't make sense grammar-wise so i'm even more confused AFTER watching the video....
Players join DF with the expectations that players want to win and get called out that if they want a good party, and told to use Party Finder. So they do yet still get incompetetant players joining which goes against the point of why they did a PF party instead of DF yet when players want a way to filter out the kind of player they don't want to meet in DF in the PF party they made they get called elititst by the same players telling them to use PF to avoid risk of getting bad players..........
It's why I don't bother with Party Finder outside of the occasional FATE party when levelling a job.
As an extra to the idea. If you don't have a clear then the option to set it is unavailable. To avoid players setting up a party finder to get 7 other experienced players to carry them.
Also SE should make a rule against advertising anything other than Parties in PF. No more selling blah blah, advertising craft services, FCs, Run sellling etc. Keep Party finder for finding parties.

@Sapphic, thanks for the feedback, that's the same idea I had too. If it was implemented, to use the option you would have to have cleared the content yourself. This works both ways for others trying to sneak clears from experienced members too.![]()
