I very much agree with what you say, BUT mind tweeking it to not sound like a jerk? kinda does more harm then good for the cause.Totally agree with this, OPTIONS are great. Not having to deal with "ninja" newbies lying through their keyboard and messing up your run is godsend. There are other party for them if they want to learn. You should be able to create exclusive party for people that play at your level. If you are not good enough, then go make a training party and get good, yes? Otherwise don't bother wasting other people time. If you are not hardcore, there is nothing wrong with that, plenty of things to do in this game. But Hardcore players should be able to completely block those who are not at the same level as them, who end up wasting the entire group time and effort. This is not a charity game...
Sorry for the brash words, but this game has TONS of options for everyone with different play levels. And you don't have to do ALL of them to experience the game. OPTIONS are good. Not everyone play the same way. And no need to make it one big happy "we are the world" kumbaya thing, sometimes a harsh medicine is needed to give them a wake up call. They can enjoy their casuals way of playing, and no need to mingle with the hardcore - or they can get better and step it up and get good if they want to play at that level.
No one force anyone to do it this way or that way, but if you are going to play with a group, at least they can learn what is the proper etiquette. Or they can go back do FATE, gathering and crafting and hanging out at the gold saucer. I mean gears don't really do much for those type activities, and welfare gears always being handed out every patches. Diadem is great for these casual corners, they can still get gears 150-180 without trying much, cap their esoteric for the week. And not being stressed out with "do you know your rotation??? do you understand how to maximize your DPS??? did you see the youtube video and prepare beforehand??"
