Block first timers from Party Finder!

It's not easy to tell until you've wasted all the time it takes to: fill the party, enter the instance, see the message, facepalm, interrogate the party, wait around awkwardly while you wait for someone to fess up, and decide to pull the boss anyway. With the kind of time you're wasting there, when you figure out who's new and back out to kick them, odds are at least one or two other people are going to decide they have better things to do than to sit in PF again thanks to an inconsiderate asshole trying to catch a free ride.

I just dont see that scenario as very typical. Most people will admit their experience level. The issue's being talked about here are so easily handled before you even go in by simple communication. I just dont run into a lot of these issues in reality, and when someone does join the party and doesn't qualify for what we need its just easy to tell and deal with before going in.

If they were the type of people that were going to fess up to being new, they wouldn't even join in the first place and this thread wouldn't be a thing. In my experience, most people that crash parties like this just sit quietly in a corner hoping they don't get noticed until after we've gone into the instance because they feel like the group is less likely to kick them once we're inside. Finally coming forward as the new person after the party lead has threatened to disband the party doesn't qualify as "admitting" your experience level. Making the party pull 2 or 3 times to figure out who's screwing up the mechanics in phase 1 isn't "admitting" your experience level. In both cases all they've really accomplished is wasting 7 other people's time while trying to get a free lunch.

Just because you haven't personally experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. No, a lot of people don't admit their experience level. It's not the party leader's fault that someone joins who is inexperienced or hasn't got the clear if they don't speak up, or lie about it. It's also not the party leader's responsibility to baby these people and carry them through content which is why this option is needed.

it happens more often then you think, I have had similar issues with bismark. Id make a clear party to have up to a % seen/beat and when i asked every person who joined i got generic replies we tried anyway and wiped then people when "o sorry gotta go" and this was on a jp server.

The way party finder works does more harm then good for the intended use. My boyfriend HATES the party finder system because when he tries to form parties they never work out, this is on jp or na server. He has better luck in DF then doing content in PF (and he is a great player and does what he can to get the best gear) but he hates how 1-4 players can mess it up for everyone else.

People's argument's are either 'I only read the title and my response isn't even valid,' 'people won't be able to get carried anymore,' or 'this doesn't happen to me so it doesn't happen at all.'

Yeah, people seem to completely ignore why the Party Finder is there. Having this option can only improve it.
