New race/gender combinations, race change opportunity

Hi!

I'm terribly excited about the announcement that the missing race/gender combinations are a 'must have' and scheduled ASAP - even if this "ASAP" is still quite a long ways off, that seems entirely reasonable to me. There's so much stuff to do that I can't imagine assets for new races being a huge priority.

However, this brings up a question for me. With 1.19 in play I actually have an incentive to return to the game, and I think 1.20 and onward will really make the game worth playing consistently! However, I really don't want to put time and effort into a character if I'm just going to be rerolling once they add the missing combinations.

I'd love to be able to roll a hume version of my eventual male Miqo'te, and just race change when the option becomes available! However, I don't think there's been any guarantee from the developers that the option to race change at least once upon new race addition will actually be in the game.

Am I wrong about this? I'd love to be able to experience the game's content without worrying that I'll have to reroll and lose my progress on PS3 release or whatever unspecified point in the future we're talking about. Does anybody else feel the same way? It'd be wonderful to get verification about this, or at the very least alert the dev team that it's an important issue for some people.
