me thinks something is a foot, connection to the servers has been odd lately for myself and my BF. something might be up with the data center
yea this is really annoying cant run anything couldnt even do a titan HM 15 secs in a 90k and off a ledge
I noticed sever lag spikes start up last night without any cause. I've tested my graphics and internet stuff and it's definitely not the issue. Must be the data center having issues. I'm on Balmung with century link ISP.
I have problems with strange lag too. Started today.
CenturyLink has been having issues in certain areas. Over 400 complaints logged at downdetector last night. Looks like a trunk line near University of Utah got cut today...knocking out a big chunk of service in that area too. Not sure just where you are located, but most recent complaints were filed in Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Omaha, Seattle, Littleton, Chicago, Portland, Spokane, and Farmington. If you may be getting routed through or near those cities, you may be getting impacted by whatever is knackering things up there. Here's the page linking to it all, includes links to facebook and twitter as well for getting help through Century link:

There is also a forum at DSL Reports for support as well:

Just glancing at different streams, it looks like CenturyLink has had some rough patches this past month...some were widespread across multiple regions, some were more isolated. Providing the links so you may have a decent shot at getting some support from them (the 800 lines seem to be lacking in general these days). Using the online options should stand a much better chance of getting in touch with the higher level support. Most of the problems we find in the routing needs to be specifically escalated to/through Tier3 support (the 800 lines typically get you Tier1...basically localized support and makes you jump through hoops to get to Tier3--online options often go to Tier3 faster).
We've repeatedly seen issues in specific regions and/or with specific third party peering ISP's---either our ISP's need to put more effort into improving QoS with them, or start altering the routes to avoid them. Need to give your ISP's Tier3 technicians a valid IP address for the game to test (if it doesn't start with 199, it is wrong...some outdated info still floating around the internet) and get your route properly investigated. There is a very strong chance they will find something that needs to be addressed. If you don't already know the IP that your client actually uses(don't use ARR Status...hasn't been entirely accurate in over a year), you can get it by loading Resource Monitor (resmon from search/run box) and expanding the networking/TCP sections to see what IP is being used once you are fully loaded into the game. Alternatively, you can give them the lobby server addresses that are embedded in the game files for testing:
Current Canadian Servers (NA/EU):
neolobby02.ffxiv.com
neolobby04.ffxiv.com
neolobby06.ffxiv.com
Current Japan Servers:
neolobby01.ffxiv.com
neolobby03.ffxiv.com
neolobby05.ffxiv.com

Happened to me too ever since this morning. I'm in Lamia and lag was almost insufferable.
