    Universal Dyes, Cookie-cutter recipies

When I first read that there would be universal dyes that could be used across all material types for synthesis, my first reaction was "Awesome, now people will be able to have gear in whatever color they want, another step in the right direction for personalization." I grew tired of seeing everyone in plate armor that was either Grey, Brown or Green, for example. And Yoshi's comments about wanting to allow people to make gear personal and an expression of individual taste, within certain boundaries, reinforced my enthusiasm about the changes.

However, instead of making the changes I had hoped for, the problem is even worse! Now all I see is cookie-cutter, carbon copies running around. Only 1 color variant for Cobalt plate or Cobalt Haub for example- Red... Really? Seriously? And those are the "good" ones that everyone wants for the extra stat boosts.

All I'm saying is, you guys gave us universal dyes, a whole palette of colors to potentially work with. Give us a chance to use them! If someone wants to run around in a set of Yellow or Purple Cobalt Plate Mail, let them be able to!

I have a feeling this will only be addressed in FFXIV 2.0. The engine upgrade should hopefully deal with this.
At the moment, they have to add one recipe + one item for every color to the item database which is very inefficient.
