Black Mage - No AF Effect

HI,

I am encountering an issue that only seems to occur in dungeons/raids (so far)

The issue is when casting Fire 1, I see the cast, the visual and the damage, however no AF stacks are given. This usually then causes a loss of AF3 or if after a Blizzard cast, no AF is activated.

This has occurred intermittently (i.e. not on every run) over the last 3-4 weeks and has so far happened in:

* A1S (on Oppressor and on Faust)
* Neverreap
* Fractal Continuum

It last occurred on 17/09 approx 18:30-19:00 AEST in A1S on Oppressor.

I am playing on PS4 with PS controller

Would hazard a guess that either you are not using a high enough tier of fire to disable Umbral Ice and apply Astral Fire (fire 1 will only negate Umbral---fire 3 also applies Astral), or you are casting it just as the timer for your existing buff has just worn off (you may have a bit of lag and the server timing is a bit off from your visual cues, not uncommon for people to be slightly out of synch like that...especially when trying to work in Fire 4 rotations).

I always go from umbral into f3 and the issue seems only to happen when I cast f1.

I've started recording fights now so when it happens again I can see exactly what I was doing and work out if it's me/lag etc, based on what you said.

Considering no one else seems to have the issue, I guess it's unlikely to be a glitch.

Well like he said, casting F1 while in Umbral will only remove the Umbral, not give you Astral.


Unless you're saying that you use F3 then go into F1 and it doesn't refresh the timer?

I did mean that the f1 cast is after f3.

I'll make sure I'm paying closer attention though. It could be that my f3 is interrupted and I don't see it. Now I'm recoding and can watch back I'll know for sure when it happens.
