It's moreso the fact that damage requirements for Alexander Savage are incredibly tight right now, so you are literally hurting your group's ability to progress if you don't focus on offensive stats.
If the next tier has more of a focus on healing/tanking requirements, then we should see the community focus more on mitigation again.
The consensus right now is definitely that Parry is too weak to consider, so something definitely needs to be done. I'd say direct-target magic spells should become parryable, or that Parry should also affect % mitigation as well as parry chance (but a chance at...what, 20% mitigation for only physical attacks? Not worth it).
