Thread: Relic Quest 3.0 Wish List

Since I went through the effort of completing my Zodiac Spear before 3.1 hit so I'd get this mysterious "Bonus" for completing the Zodiac Brave Quest, I'd really like to carry over my Longenus' stats so I could have an Ilvl 200+ Crit/Det spear that's not The Gordian Trident.

After I spent that much time and coin on that weapon I REALLY do expect it's stats to carry over. Which I'm willing to bet is what the "Bonus" is since it's check point to get the bonus is the Novus Phase.

I really hope so too, however, I wonder how likely it would be if the new relic is completely new. They did seem pretty adamant that our original relics were as strong as they could get, and would not be required for the new ones. So, I'm not sure how they would apply our previous stats to our new weapons, or how that would work for players who didn't do the original relics.

A Sage's Staff/Staff of the Magi (cane, because BLM uses Staffs in this game IDK why) based on FFXII's design for my WHM is all I want.

That's pretty nifty looking. Was this a relic weapon (or some kind of equivalent) in FFXI? I don't know much about that game.

Nope, although being the most powerful staff on the game and a rare steal from a Holy Elemental mob, it was just an ordinary staff. FFXII didn't have any relics to be honest.

The idea of stealing a rare and useful item from a monster is an alien concept in this game lol. That kind of thing seems to have been redirected to crafters and gathers, rather than actual combat classes... which is a shame.

They should increase the variety of ways to attain high level equipment other than Extreme Trials and Raids. Obviously, those two things should give the best gear, since you had to work for it, but I think it would give a nice worldly feel if you could occasionally come across things like this in the open world. The Odin and Behemoth FATEs would be the closest comparisons I could make... that is, if the gear they gave was actually relevant.

Those are my reservations as well.

Seems we'll have to wait for the live streem and transcript for any info about it or 3.1 in general.

My greatest fear is that they were lying about it and are just going to screw us all over. However, if they do any quest steps that are similar to light farming from novus/zodiac stage, I could see how they might be able to offer some compensation there. Maybe they would offer bonuses in farm values to people who have a zeta, that kind of thing.

I swear if the bonus is extra dialog I will start cueing fates in the churning mists just to MPK the moogles and laugh as the Dragons devour them!

Sounds good lol. Seriously, if this game was like Demon's Souls I would have murdered a few NPC's already. That lalafel B**** in Mor Dhona who kept sending us to find new stuff for her clients and then criticizing them for being dirty and such so she'd have an excuse to have us fetch her more would make the top of the list. Out of all the zodiac quest givers, I hated her the most because her dialogue was infuriating and you knew that she had the item you needed in her pocket the whole time. You could have just killed her and made off with it instead of putting up with her BS.
