MCH is throwing me for a loop. I keep looking up videos to try out openers & compare damage but the difference is nuts. All these videos the MCH are doing dummy parses of 2100-2200(with pots/food) at a slightly higher ilvl(250~ to my 248) than me with the same weapon. And my absolute highest dummy parse was 1920(no pots/food). That's 200-300 more damage than me & I have absolutely no idea what I can do. I hit 12-13K WFs & 7-8K MFs, I don't hold my CDs at all besides B4B to sync with HE & I refresh HS & LS....basically I can't understand why there's such a large difference. I know pots/food skew damage but no way it's 250 dps right?

Well, it's hard to say without a video or a parse to analyze, but it could be many things.

Remember that if it's a video people tend to only upload their absolute personal best highlight reels. For all you know, behind every 2200 parse there were five 1950 or 2000 ones that got thrown away because of bad RNG. But yeah, hard to say without data, you could be the same ilvl but they have more favourable stats (less skillspeed), they could be toggling GB non-stop for a small dps increase, etc. And yeah food/pots do make a difference too, combine that with normal statistical variance and it's not too surprising to see that level of difference in results, RNG is a fickle mistress.

readjusting the relic stats to cover the accuracy melded in gear will net +22Det. without increasing undesired SS.

so you can remove all ACC melds and replace them with det. my crit value is still the same in comparison to before tho -_-. having a headache trying to balance my bard set with this change.

I ended up reconstructing an opener from speed kills/ watching lots of videos and ended up seeing that I had my opener way off of the top.

Hey, if i may suggest relocating 4 of your accuracy points to skill speed. you are at 542 atm with this set up, and your recast is about 2.43 sec, am I right? at 546 SkS, you should be at 2.42 recast.

Funny thing about skill speed, individual points are useless unless you can break the current tier. I believe it takes 27 points to move on to the next tier (- .01 sec off your gcd), and currently you are 4 short of your next tier. So basically you have 23 sks stat that weights 0 each.

one way to test out is see if you can by a cheap food that gives 4 sks and see if it brings your recast down.

edit: i know skill speed is trash with mch's insta cast and stuff, but, ya know... with food you have 705 acc, i thought switching those over to sks and get the max out of your set

Heya. Started to lvl up machinist and was wondering about Gauss Barrel. Do you use it only on pull and later switch it on and off during fight or you constantly have this mode turned on?

You can keep it on the whole fight, there is not a real issue there. Btw, all proc'ed slug and clean shot are instant cast with Gauss barrel on in case you didn't know. Min/Maxer will turn it off when they have exhausted all of their offensive cooldowns (blank, head graze and gauss round) for 2~3 gcds and then turn it back on for hotshot/leadshot. You can have it off for hotshot, but always have it on for leadshot. Stance dancing generally gives you a minimal dps increase, not a game changer.

Example to turn it off and on: You have used all blank, head graze and gauss round, you do not have a proc'ed shot. Turn Gauss barrel off, fish for a proc'ed slug shot, (then quick reload if available), turn it back on for instant cast slug shot (potentially proc'ed clean shot)

Should mention that Lead Shot and Reassembled Clean Shot are the only GCDs that are guaranteed to be a gain inside Gauss Barrel. Split, Slug, Clean+ammo are generally going to be minor DPS losses inside GB, compared to GB-off with autoattacks.

Also want to emphasize that none of this matters until you're hitting high 90th percentile numbers. No amount of stance dancing makes up for losing uptime, losing Lead Shot ticks, losing oGCD casts, etc.

    Q1)
Should i use ammo for clean shot if i dont have reassemble? The guide says not to use it with clean shot but then says always pair ammo with clean shot+reassemble. So does this mean i need to only spend ammo on clean shot if i have reassemble on cooldown? I tried finding out myself with about 10 30 second bursts on the striking dummy and the results were very random but always close together. (Is 30 seconds too short with mch rng?)

I basically ignored everything except my ammo and split, slug, and clean shot because that is the only part at the moment that i wanted to test.
After using reload(V) i started with split(IV), used procd slug(III), used procd a clean(II) + reassemble, used quick reload (at III ammo again), used Split(II), then used procd slug(I), now have a proc for Clean but hold it because no reassemble, split(now becomes 0 ammo), If slug procs i use my clean shot that was previously procd, then use the slug shot, hoping to proc it and get another 200potency clean shot before ammo-less split shot til proc spam...Is this a bad idea compared to spending ammo asap(without reassemle available)?

    Note:
3 times i did this without holding and it was higher average dps, but the highest i ever could get was this 1 time where i held cleanshot.
If you read the tooltip, it says clean shot with ammo gains 20 potency, but if you proc a slug shot it gains 80 potency...this is why i believe i should hold ammo..adding 20 potency over adding 80..

    Q2)
If I save reassemble for clean shot procs, should i hold quick reload to pair with it or use quick reload on cooldown or would this be a dps loss? Its only on CD for 15 seconds, so maybe i should spend it 3 times(45s) and hold the last one for my next reassemble?
