Lock and Load: The Reassembled Machinist Guide

I'm a bit confused at the moment. I've been carefully gearing up (within my means; I can't craft/afford much of the crafted 220 Aiming gear though I have 3 pieces currently, and I opted to invest in the right side Lore gear for the sake of MCH and NIN first. No Seph wep, using 210 Eso/Thordan wep still, slow and selective with melds)

While my rotation doesn't 100% match the "established" one, it's fundamentally the same as what's been agreed upon as the most effective. However recently, after gearing up a bit more, I seem to not be able to hit the same Wildfire numbers as I had before. I went from between 8-10K+ WFs to 7-9K (no food, still hitting 10, but much less suddenly). The most recent changes were swapping out the 210 Machinist Brais for the Proto-Midan Aiming pants, and swapping the Proto-Midan ring for Eikon. Technically all stat increases, yet my damage remains at its best, right where it was, if not lower. What's so different?

What is the min/max skill speed a mch should have at end game?

As little as possible is the general sentiment I believe, it's our least desirable stat.

Well in most cases it's not like we have much options to choose our stats anyway. There's a little bit of customization in choice of materia and which lore pieces you target first - but for the most part you'll just be wearing whatever is the best/highest ilvl gear you have access to.

If it so happens that you're at 400 at the moment then so be it - it's not really a big deal and to my knowledge we don't have critical sks breakpoints to hit, so anything goes.

Is your skill speed lower? I know it's regarded as highly undesirable for MCH, yet I find even with good ping I struggle to squeeze in one last move before Wildfire goes off sometimes - like right down to milliseconds.

i217 MCH now with 1127 dex and sephirot weapon, 856 crit, 624 det.

Just tried the A5S SSS dummy again and with the opener Ailury has on the video link on the first page I hit like an 8k wildfire (couldn't get the last clean/split shot in time) and the 2nd wildfire hit for 7k (I had HE, B4B, rapid fire, gauss barrel and quick reload up at that time)

Is this okay damage for wildfires? used no food and xpots here

7k is great for the second one, 8k seems a bit low for the first one though.
