Lag / Stuttering with new PC build and GTX970

    Hi all,

Got myself a new PC build with the GTX970. Graphics are fine and frame rate is wonderfull (goes between 60 to 120) and this is super fine BUT in animation intensive fight, everything begins to stutter and i get lag and stuttering. There is no frame drop, it is still > 70 but big graphic lag and stutter

    More info
    - I run a intel i7 CPU
    - Windows has all recent update,
    - I have the latest nvidia driver installed (355.82)
    - This is the only game i play so cannot relate on other games
    - Playing on maximum setting all over the place

I have done some research on this but couln't find any up to date info

=> Other questions Is there a proven nvidia driver that runs the game fine?? I looked on

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-gb

And it range from 344.11 to 355.82 ?? which is the best???

    Possible solution :
    - I'll try to turn aero design off
    - i'll try to turn v-sync off

    Any other advice???
    Thx

I'll add that capping the fps to 50 helps a lot by almost completly removing the stutter and if i cap it to 25, it's pretty much completly gone...... but its 25 fps and i don't want that.

Also, borderless or fullscreen don't change anything

What happens if you play on medium settings. Do you still get the stutter?

I had a similar issue, with the stutter coming at totally random times- doesnt even have to be a graphic intensive area. Frames weren't dropping either. Just this weird stutter. I'm also using a GTX 970, with an intel i5 4670, on max settings. Capping the frames to 60 seemed to fix the stutter. I don't really notice the stutter anymore but maybe because I try to not look for it haha. I'm running Nvidia driver 355.60 with the following graphic settings through the Nvidia control panel https://gyazo.com/0d6eb90758832014036b61445ac73920 and https://gyazo.com/8ca4ee367053ae955fc75912a8b8aa40

I also use EVGA Precision X 16 with custom fan control to keep temps low

How do you cap the frame rate, in game, the only options are none, 50, 25, 12

Maybe your monitor refresh rates aren't set to 60? In fact, stutter can be caused by the monitor refresh rates being off I'm pretty sure! Look into your monitor and its "native" refresh rates and play around with the settings via windows

I have an asus turbo gtx970 only running with an i5-4590 running 100% stock max all including all options set max quality in NVidia control panel, PhysX config set to card only forget auto select. win8.1

Max quality set ingame and remove the silly fps limiter. average 90fps, zero stuttering so maybe you have a bad make of the card, like my last card gtx 760 had major issues. can DSR 2x this and still beat 60fps. but the icons and stuff become to small so I run it at 1920, 1080 at 120hz can even 3d vision it no problems but 3d vision is kind of a gimmick so don't bother really.

also they say win 10 atm is kind of unstable for gaming if that's what your using.

This has nothing to do with stability, and most likely everything to do with frames not matching the monitors refresh rate

I'm still with win 7 but... OMG Noxe, you were absolutly right, my refresh rate wasnt set correctly, when i configured all my thing i put the resolutation to an option like Ultra HD 1080p 50hz. That 50hz was not good at all since it's not in sync with the game or the graphic card, but it back to its native 1080p with 60hz and bingo!!!! running 100-150 fps perfectly with no stutter, thx for the screen shot!!!!
