    Pointing finger syndrome.

So... little rant coming you way.

Was doing a dungeon on my SCH and we got a few wipes, Now as someone who mains tanks and has all three of the jobs @60 and play them everyday, i would say i would know the "basics" off those classes. So often i do see when a tank does something wrong.

So was running a dungeon with 1x PLD / 2x BLM And moi, the scholar.

First pull he pulled the whole lot and i was struggling keeping him up cause he decided to pop 3 out of 5 CDs at once.(Once they went off it was a struggle) Eventually he died and continued to blame the DPS, Cause obviously. not enough dps (Later i found out the other BLM Was his friend *lol*)

Anyways i just said "It happens" Cause i didn't wanna cause any trouble in a simple leveling dungeon. Later on he decided to pop both Sentinel & Rampart on two remaining mobs that would've not even needed my healing attention as my pet could've healed a DPS through that.

He then continued to do another massive pull with zero DMG mitigation buffs used. Not even HG.

Ofcourse we wiped and he was like "God.. this healer fails"

At that moment i started to feel attacked and i just figured, Lets point some flaws out. As mentioned above i pointed out how he should know the basics of rotating his CDs or prioritize them when needed.

At this point his friend stepped in and said "Oh well i just healed him on my AST and i had no problems what so ever"

And ofcourse as i do pay attention to people, And i did notice this BLM eating every single dodgeable aoe i figured, Sure lets bring it on. So i started criticising his gameplay to. And i said, I would expect someone with that great healing capabilities to know the mechanics of a boss fight, Instead of you making it easier on the healer since said healer already has to deal with a tank that does not know the basic of how to mitigate DMG with your buffs, Why add to the strain and decide to stand in melee range eating AoEs as a blackmage?

At this point i'm pretty sure they were running out of arguments and they decided to boot me. Oh happy days! Joined the same dungeon with a new party, With a tank that had worse gear that the previous guy but outperformed him by so much. I commended they guy and told him what a goodjob he did(Was a new player as well)
Explained the boss fights and that was it, he nailed it.

Seriously, i mean. I'm totally fine with new people, especially new tanks, i always try to motivate them and help them if they want. But when they start to point the blaming finger to everyone but themselfs, I'm not having that.

I'll be the first person to say "Sorry my bad, i screwed up there" if i do happen to make a mistake(human, sorry!) But geez, some people need to take a mirror and look into it for a while, At the end of the day its DF. random people, From noobs who don't know how to rotate their abilities to people who cleared the hardest content in game.

Take it with a grain of salt and just have fun(FUN!?! What is this madness, Do we play a game for fun?!)

For the most part I find new tanks that strive to be tanks while lvling it's the tanks that have everything 60+ but tanks and have leveled through FATEs n what not and never actually looked at what their skills do. I have a friend who's lvling a paladin (lvl 47 atm) and he's marking mobs with a 1 and then the other with a 2 while using CDs such as rampart and bulwark when they're needed. With so much emphasis on speed running people get into the mentality that they gotta speed up and go fast without any input from the healer, usually I ask in dungeons (specially AV) if you want a speed run, or an EXP run. Sounds to me you had a premade that though very highly of themselves but had no clue how to use proper CD management which is a shame.

And that right there is when I call it quits. Someone that's willing to single out a single player and put them down when an entire team dies isn't someone that's going to even begin to think that maybe they did something wrong on their part. Whenever I see this in a dungeon, I immediately begin weighing my options, because there's a good chance that I won't finish that run.

There are just people like that in this game, or any game, really. I healed Brayflox NM via duty roulette and started getting attacked by a goblin during a trash pull. A DPS scolded the arrogant tank (who had, previously lost enmity and just let an enemy have at me) for not having enmity on the goblin.

His response? "I got hate, healer needs to not get attacked."

He and the DPS went back and forth for a bit. I still don't understand that tank's mentality, but the funny part is, I never aggro'd the goblin that attacked me. It was just using its randomized auto-attack. So the DPS was scolding the tank for something he didn't do, and the tank was shifting all the blame to me without even bothering to look at his enmity table. Both parties thought they were right and refused to budge. We finished the dungeon without much incident, but the tank never did pull his mobs in a fashion that benefited us. I think I still ended up being attacked once or twice by enemies that he just...let go.

This is a game where your skills in your role are very obvious, and people use this to boost their own self-esteem and stroke their egos, unfortunately. And any time they feel their pride is under attack or they are being criticized, even if silently, they'll lash out. There's not much you can do except to ignore their behavior or just leave.

True... alot of people enjoy pointing mistakes out but can't take it when someone does the same. And its not this game, i've noticed it the last few years... Just a few days ago i was playing a Counter-strike match. I was carrying the team and i screwed up on a round and missed a shot. This guy in my team went ape-shit and started to rant on me. May i add this guy was 2-13 on supreme rank(Quite a high rank)

We didn't say anything about his mistakes or fails. and here he was pointing out, hell stomping me in the ground for it.

Some people really need to understand its a game, And if you do not create a premade team, You will play with random who are either very bad, in between good or what ever. Thats a risk you're taking. Deal with it
Atleast, thats how i see it. No one likes to be criticized, But if done in a proper way it'll help you in the long run. Just cause you criticized someone doesn't mean it has to be in a bad way, Give him an alternative, Tell him how you do it.
