    i180 craft (red scrips)

So I just reached 60 and capped my first week of red scrips, the gear you can get is i180, and takes 1-3 weeks of caps to get each piece, or you can get mats with the red scrips, to craft better gear*i170HQ/melded*? What should I be doing... I don't gather so is it realistic to get the mats and craft my own? Lol... Overwhelmed atm I don't get it

I'll give you the TLR version.

Crafted ilvl 170 is best in slot provided... you HQ it and pentameld it to its stats caps which is really expensive since you'll have to use rank 4 and maybe a 5 materia to beat its counterpart ilvl 180 gear. For a crafter with not alot of money full left side ilvl 180 redscript is a perfect option. It cuts down on the expensive melds your going to have to do and its going to give you stats that are STILL overkill once you get it all.

For you its going to be super expensive EVEN IF you can craft it so I strongly for you at least don't recommend the crafted ilvl 170 set unless you hate your money.

if you're already overwhelmed, maybe crafting your own gear might not be the best thing to do. If you're one for min/maxing your stats then of course you want the crafted stuff. If this is the route you're going, be prepared to either dish out millions of gil to purchase favor materials or spend hours of time gathering favor materials to turn in for the crafting materials.

If you don't care to do much more than low-tier crafting and just want a decent boost to stats, then the i180 stuff is the way to go.

Melding is not that much of a problem, only the mainhand tools and chest pieces require expensive overmelds. HQ Gloves, Boots, Pants and Hat are only 5 control lower than the ilvl 180 counter parts so you dont even need overmelds or expensive materia to beat them. Crafting those parts and buying tools/chests with red scrips might be a good idea, at least for people who gather. If you have to buy all the mats it might be too expensive :/

You may want to start gathering, the accessories, belt and offhands are craft only you can't get them with tokens. :3
