SUGGESTION: Set-specific Glamours

Not sure if anyone shares my opinion, and this will probably sound like a #firstworldproblem, but I find continuously reglamouring the same end-game gear over and over again for each different occasion really frustrating. Also, I am very annoyed by how healer/tank classes that share the same gear have to look exactly the same unless I re-glamour my gear.

So, I propose the addition of a set-specific glamour option in-game. Yeah, different glamours for the same gear pieces in different saved character sets. I know that a change of this magnitude could take some time and be quite difficult (if not impossible), but I think if the programmers at Square Enix try hard enough, they can do anything! (lol)

But yeah.. IMO a change like that is well worth it

I dont think this will happen, what you are suggesting will clash with the server blablabla memory limitations. I do like your idea, but seeing how we can not use two glamours on one item for different classes, I reckon your suggestion will take alot of time to be put in the game. Maybe when they fix the server memory thingy, we might see it.

Title did give me a neat idea on how we could save some memory space for glamours, especially with changes coming up in 3.1. Make it so you can trade in all the pieces of a set, for a single multi-slot version of the same set, for glamour purposes.

This would be the ultimate glamour upgrade for me. I've long wanted to have different glamours for a single job (In a Frontline match? Use your grand company glamour set. Running around in the colds of Ishgard? Wear your cold weather set. Lost in Thanalan? Time to switch over to desert garb) but regrettably, with all the talk of local memory or server limitations I've given up hope for a feature like this.

Yes please. I changed my PLD boots today. I glamour a dyed version of the 180 gear. Unfortunately I also use these on my DRK with a different glamour. To glamour my PLD I had to:

1. Dispel the glamour on the 180 boots
2. Glamour over the Creed boots
3. Dye the new boots
4. Re-glamour my old PLD boots for my DRK

I do wish that glamour was job specific and wasn't reliant on changing the look of the item, but instead changing the look of the role.

This is one of the reasons I decided to just stick to one Job per "role" (Tank, Healer, Ranged, Melee, Caster) in 3.0, the other was just the lack of space in my armory to keep every single job geared. I would love it if glamours were saved to gearsets rather than the actual gear.

Being able to save multiple glamour sets would at least make it somewhat bearable though.

They need something like a Memory Prism. Equip the gear you want (along with class specific weapon), use the prism and it saves that current set. Equip all the normal high-end gear you wear, use the prism, instantly glamours the old set on top. Least then it would save time. Would save some frustration too, can't tell you how many times I have bought prisms or made them only to find I made the wrong grade or am missing one.

Aaah nooooo we do not need additional stuff clogging inventory. The sets need to be built into the UI properly.

I wish they would look into ways to allow your healers or tanks that share gear to look different without having to wear different gear/re-glamour prism every time you swap jobs.

When you have job-specific-equipment as the base gear, it's not a huge problem (which is why I like that the esoteric gear is currently the "in" set, for now). But we all know that in another couple patches or so they're going to make the next ilvl cluster sharing gear based on roles, and suddenly you can't have your healers/tanks/certain dps looking unique- making any Esoteric armor in the future (being used as glamour) impractical.
